Howdy-hey, everybody! I just got my own Wii the other day, and have been learning how to mod them. I've gotten the Homebrew Channel installed via Letterbomb with system menu 4.3U, and I'm currently trying to learn how to install WAD files.
I'm currently trying to use YAWMM to do this, but I keep getting Error -1029 upon trying to install any WAD, injected or otherwise. I followed the steps
here using IOS249 as a base, and used the method
here to install a cIOS using the d2x CIOS installer and beta52. This allowed me to view the WADs I placed on my SD card, but after that, YAWMM throws the 1029 error.
Upon further research, I heard that you could use IOS236 as a base, but I don't appear to have it installed. It probably wouldn't hurt to have it installed anyway, but just to be sure: is there a way I can get IOS249 to install WADs, or just install ios236 and do it from there?
Also, as long as I'm asking newbie questions: upon installing Homebrew, I immediately backed up the NAND and such using HackMii. In the event that my Wii gets bricked, how would I go about restoring it with the NAND? I assume I'll need some sort of restoration program or file loader, but that's all I can think of.
