Not sure if this is new but here goes anyway

Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has said his team is working on a new Mario title featuring "traditional" gameplay.

Nintendo had previously stated that new Zelda and Pikmin games were in development, but failed to mention the mascot plumber.

"Making these 'traditional' games is what I am best at," Miyamoto told The Telegraph. "Because games of that nature take upwards of two or three years to make, we always have to keep the teams working on those projects going.

"They are all working on more Mario, Zelda and Pikmin projects. And they all work in close proximity to me, so I can keep a good eye on them."

Miyamoto, who began his career working as an artist for Nintendo in 1977, is responsible for many of the firm's most influential titles, including Donkey Kong, Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin and Mario.

He also worked as a supervisor on Nintendo hits Metroid Prime and Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games.

Strangely, there are zero new games with Mario as a playable character scheduled between now and the end of 2008. Not counting ports/remakes/etc.

Mario Super Sluggers doesn't count as it's already out in Japan.

If a title like the current Wii version of Warioland would appear I would be totally satisfied. I guess they could either take the 8bit/16bit approach, that would be awesome. But if they did it more in the same cartoony Wario style I wouldn't mind.

It's a funny thing but I guess most Nintendo fans would rather have a mario platformer in the old fashioned 8bit or 16bit style than a full 3d adventure game like Super Mario Galaxy.

Imagine Super Mario World style except quadruple the size.

I miss old skool Mario (SMB3/SMW)

NSMB was OK, but didn't capture the speed element of older Mario games. Give me the Cape or Racoon any day.

Clearly the article indicates a longer timeframe has been given for this game, one that would indicate a 3d mario platformer more than anything.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
