The PS3 is a good, when you buy it you own it. Sony trying to control what you can do with it is bad.

AFAIK, the PS3 supports hard-drive upgrading (unlike the 360, which requires hacks and a specific hard drive to get a custom hard drive to work). And now, because of this, anyone who has installed a custom hard drive technically isn't allowed to access PSN.

I think it only applies to stuff on your ps3 like homebrew apps and such, though I could be wrong.

3rd party manufacturers (like madcatz) have to get their peripherals authorized by sony today to get into any game store, unless u bought a controller off of some random website this won't affect peripherals

lol in the end sony takes out madcatz not hackers why would sony lincense third party hardware when they have there hardware thats twice as expensive for the same quality they make more money

The PSN agreement only mentions sutff gotten through PSN or official Sony content (such as PS3 games) in the stat tracking section.

I'm pretty sure Madcatz is licensed nowadays. When Sony blocked controllers with one update only older Madcatz controllers were blocked.
