Nice one

If you like oblivion, then you should download and fix with the overhauling projects

Making it look stunning, though it requires a somewhat good computer, which won't be a problem for you!

I build it myself from the parts, the hardest part was connecting the case cables to the MoBo.
the rest was easy.

I know oblivion is a great game (not played it myself though), but I am more a FPS person so I am waithing for the games like Crysis 2 and Black Ops , which are supposed to be great.
maybe (if I do get my expected student support) I will buy a second 5870 to crank the quality up a bit. but that's still a planning, not a fact.

edit, I dont like the pricing of the I7's the real good ones are quite expensive, and the 1090T is quite overclockable to a point only the I7-980x beats it ( a 1000 dollar cpu)

for most things other than gaming, the 1090T is a great cpu. gaming is a completely different issue, where even i5's match or outperform amd's hexcores.

anandtech have a nice page of benches through different games for both hexcores vs a selection of intel procs. the i5 750 beats both 1060t & 1090t in 5/6 games

why the hexcore and the crosshair for gaming.... you would have been better off going the i7 route.
What are you trying to say, actually? The CPU doesn't matter in gaming.
And I've heard this from a lot of people: you're better off with an AMD Phenom II 955 than with an Intel I7.

if a program supports multi cpu, a hexacore will (in most cases) outpreform the quad core, and more and more games are starting to support multi cpu's

Great PC. Can someone link me to the Oblivion overhaul projects? I would love to see that game with better visuals.
EDIT: If it was 16 it would be a 16 core, just a 16 core.

AMD is already working on a Dadeco core (12 cores), and I mean a real Dadeco, no with hypertreading or something similar.

cpu still matters quite a bit, its just you'd benefit more from better graphics. you wont get anywhere playing BF:BC2 with a single core at a decent res even with the highest card out. read the ananadtech link i posted.

the only reason to go for a 955 over an i7 is if you're on a tight budget, the fact that OP bought a crosshair shows he isn't/wasn't too much worried about money.
