Hey,
I've build a pc 3 or so months ago (specs below) and I have installed GTA San Andreas on it. Last week the game started to lag after 1 or 2 minutes of playing. The fps drops from around 45 to 15 and it lags like hell. Luckily, I have backed up a clean copy of the installation, which runs at about 30 to 70 fps.
So my question is, how do I fix the lag on my pc? Can I make gta crossfire compatible or something? Can I make it go all out on my pc?

Here are my pc specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x86

cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1075t @3.8GHz
ram: 4GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz CL7
gfx: 2x Asus EAH6850 (that's amd 6850) in crossfire
psu: 600W Cooler Master
mobo: Asus M4A89TD PRO USB3

installed mods:

cleo mods:
- F14 tomcat mods (ejection seat, afterburner, npc effect (?), npc vg(?), - paints, sonic barrier, display, control, vgwing (?))
- An eterable train in San Fierro
- Being able to enter Area 69 anytime
- anti-gravity gun
- More weapons on the patriot, tank, hydra and the rustler
- 1 button-press for nrg 500
- speedometer
- first-person cam while driving
- weapon spawner

car mods:
- Hydra to F14 Tomcat
- Jester to toyota supra
- Banshee to Lamborghini something
- maybe 1 or 2 more but I forgot those...

other mods:
- Being able to go faster with the hydra (now F14)
- Other handling for the modded cars and the hydra
- Other sound for the hydra
- Other fire, explosion, shooting and blood graphics (when I shoot the game also kinda lags.)

special:
- I installed DYOM (Design your own mission)
- ENB Series 0.075s, but I don't use it because it makes the game lag.
- IMG Tool
- GGMM
- SA Handling Editor
- SAMP (San Andreas Multi Player, which doesn't work either)

Oh and btw:
- It doesn't matter if I run it at the highest settings possible or not, it will still run at 15-45 fps.
- Mirror's Edge runs smoothly on the highest settings
- Crysis also kinda does (25+ fps)

note: I wanted to post these specs in spoilers, but I can't?!
You'll make me very happy if you can make it go lightning fast on my pc :D

Solution
You sure your CPU works at full speed while playing San Andreas? Also, CrossFire tends to slow some games down instead of speeding up due to the extra graphics card(s). Try disabling CrossFire in Catalyst Control Center.

Ok I solved it :D
I wanted to disable crossfire and I found out I couldn't, so I checked if the cards are recocnized in device manager and they were, so I rolled back the driver (I updated it last week). After that I could enable crossfire and now the game is running at 60 fps minimum muahahah
So thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it.
