Kali Linux & Parrot OS are varieties of Linux that are primarily designed for info sec enthusiasts & pen testers. Personally i use Kali Linux over Parrot OS for bug bounties, The reason for that is way less tools and is maintained more actively than parrot os.
Also and anyone can correct me here but I believe both are built on the foundations of Debian.

I might get a mac mini, i have a Chromebook, they're pretty pro, I've been wanting an ubuntu, I use to have a hackintosh.
