Might there be a new DSi firmware online in some hours???
I think it will, according to this: http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/news/2...ance_19038.html
Of course, people will say: "It's just regular maintenance...", but I don't think so, according to Nintendo, that said they would bring out a firmware about every year. Also, Nintendo normally updates the Shop on Friday, so they aren't just adding new titles...

OMG, I checked my DSi it say "A new update is available" !!!!!

I'm Just jocking, it always say that.

And I don't think a new firmware will come now... 3DS release is soon... what a new DSi update may add?

twitter + hypothetical flashcart block?

Firmware updates are clearly not Nintendo's cup of tea.

I sincerely hope for a new firmware, so that:
1. Those damn bugs get fixed;
2. I can try out the fireware upgrade functions of my flashcarts.

It's been too long since the last firmware update though so I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

Also, +1 to boudincaca.

EDIT: oh, and IIRC, the firmware updates DON'T happen on the days the shop gets updated, but a couple of days before.

Well, I have a DSi, and I would really like to see a SD-Menu, like on the Wii, and Nintendo once said it was possible.
(For the ones that don't know what SD-Menu is: It is a special menu where you can lauch games (downloaded from the online shop) directly from SD.

What bugs?

Browser related. Sometimes it just freezes for no reason while you're using it, other times it gives an error message when trying to exit to the menu and you either have to hold down the Power button for quite a while or take out the battery.

I'm using the browser for a long time and this never happened to me... They should really fix 'em up
EDIT: OMG, I have 666 posts now!

Some people have problems with it, others don't. I find myself to have the problem occur quite often.

When did you get your DSi? Launch day, or later on? I got mine at launch day so maybe if you got yours later on, that's where they fixed the problem (if it's hardware related) and all models from then on don't suffer from it.

They should just do a whole new menu 2.0 add stuff that us flash card users can't resists (virtual console)while adding a new way to check ds cards...just a thought..

If it was easy to block flashcarts, an update would have been released almost immediately, they can do that "add firmware description: "Update fixing security issue" and voila.
I think they are check mat for the DS Mode, impossible to patch it without blocking the retail games used.

But they still can block the new DSi Mode exploit if they want, I'm sure they just need to check wifi chip memory content for unauthorized code (actually it's already fixed on the newest DSi/DSi XL).

Well, it's not like the WiFi memory chip hack will be of much importance for a long while anyway, sure, people can run homebrew, but it'll take ages for the DSi to be fully hacked.

According to http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/d...enuFeatures.jsp

Nintendo put new soft 1.4.1 for DSi on servers.

Nintendo DSi Menu Ver 1.4.1U

This update provides behind-the-scenes improvements to system performance.

Anyone know this soft block flashcarts ? I'm scared of entering to DSi-Shop now...
Seems quite possible since the 1.4 description of blocking flashcards is the same as 1.4.1's description of the entire firmware. It seems to have the same point of the Wii's 4.3 SM.

Someone update and tell me what you got.

Didn't we already have the 1.4.1 update?

Last update was in fact like 1.4.1 but it didn't changed soft number...

This 1.4.1 is brand new...
