Well finally sorta go the soft mod working.

Neogammer, Uloader and other back up loaders will detect my flash drive and game. But every time I go to start the game all I get is a black screen.

You said you had a black wii didn't you? That means it is unable to read backed up discs. You need to use a HDD with a usb loader: http://www.completesoftmodguide.tk/backup-...chers/iso/extra

re read his post again. He says he is using a flash drive.

can anyone help me? i followed these steps to the T. I burnt an iso file and backed it up on a Verbatim DVD-R and when i run neogamma i get D error 1252. i checked to see if my wii was one affected by the d32 chip, but discovered it wasn't.

Everything worked fine for, could install all wads, but my problem is, when i use the modify.zip and enter the SD Menu the boot.elf does not load at all!
I even formated my card and put only the necessary archives but no good results.
Can some1 help me?
Thanks

I thought all black wii's had d3-2 boards. I guess I could be wrong however. Did you get ANY errors when following the guide? If you didn't get ANY errors, it sounds like you have a d3-2 board.

What I had was a 4.1J with D2C that I bought overseas. I was able to play iso games burnt on DVDs before when it was 3.2J. Once updated to 4.1J with HBC, and then 4.2J after following the guide step by step, most DVDs now are not playable - the "Game Disc" error, even when loading via NeoGamma. Any thoughts?

I have many Wii games on DVDs, and am thinking about switching to the USB HDD option...any recommendation on the USB loader and USB HDD that I should be using. Thanks...

Hi, nice work.
I will mod my black 4.2u wii after a while.
BTW, for TBR thru MMM, isn't Resetting IOS15 back to normal recommended? Because the guide doesn't tell us to, sh'd we retore it?

At the end of the update section, you told us to update the HBC so it runs in the correct IOS. Which one is it? Mine runs w/ IOS61 v21.29.
Also i have a problem loading backup games using Neogamma R9 beta35, cIOS38rev 19 slot 249 when i try to load i get error 1028 disc ID.
Does it have anything to do with the DVD? I'm usin a Sony DVD-RW and burned at 1x.
Thanks

hi @forthe i modded a black wii with this guide .zero problems, mind you cannot load backups from discs with a black wii as the dvd drive doesnt read them ,you will need to invest in a usb hard drive for you backups ...hope this help ya
