Four quick questions...

1) With this guide, is the wii able to play dual layer games via neogamma using the disc channel?
2) Which is the best neogamma version to use after using this guide? r7? r8 b15?
3) What's the difference between installing cIOS249-v14.wad or cIOS249-v15.wad and cIOS250-v14.wad or cIOS250-v15.wad? Should I install the v15 versions?
4) In the begining of the guide, it says that you'll be able to play wiiware and vc games from th sd card. How is it done?

Thanks in advance for the help.
1] you have no idea how backup loading works. research and learn why your question makes absolutely no sense.
2] try both, a beta is a beta for a reason.
3] they are different revisions of IOS249. 14 breaks dual layer reading and 15 breaks disc loading.
4] patching the system menu IOS.

Hey guys, read through the majority of this thread and can't see anyone with the same issue, but I do apologize if this is a repeated question.

Following the guide to hack my 4.2E wii, updated through the official method.

Installed HBC, no worries, installed bootmii as boot2, no worries, but when I restart my wii I don't get any bootmii load up.

I was under the impression that bootmii didn't work on 4.2 so I never updated but after reading this guide and seeing bootmii installed on 4.2 I thought "Hey great let's update it," but now it seems I've reverted back to my initial thoughts about 4.2 and bootmii

So can I install bootmii as boot 2 on my 4.2E wii? If so, why isn't mine working? I didn't encounter any errors during the installation and when I boot it just goes straight to the system menu.

Thanks!!

Are bootmii and priiloader the same.
nope. priiloader applies system hacks and bootmii is used to make a nand backup. though both apps are used to recover from a brick wherein bootmii has the advantage due to its restore feature.

Ok, after doing some further research turns out I didn't even install boot2, I just prepared the files! But that is because I don't get the option to install boot2.

Why don't I get this option? Is it because I'm on 4.2? Is there anyway around it?

consoles that were produced mid-2008 later have an updated boot1 that will not allow you to install bootmii as boot2. though you could still install it as ios bootmii.

Yeah I feel really dumb lol.

I thought the SD card was only used for boot2 so I deleted it off my card when I found out I had to use IOS.. Then searching the forums a bit more I found the answer, put it back on and all is gravy, cheers mate.

Feel like a right dick head lol..

what size\model hdd are you using? does it have an external power supply? i had a 120gb Freecom drive that wouldn't work without a external supply, so i purchased a LaCie 320gb and that works like a dream off just usb power
