ok hello guys,

i followed the guide exactly as it says, homebrew is install, boot mii with preloader , everything is done like it says but it wont load my hdd with the usb loader gx, the screen freeze and the wii restart, anyone got an idea??

thank

what size\model hdd are you using? does it have an external power supply? i had a 120gb Freecom drive that wouldn't work without a external supply, so i purchased a LaCie 320gb and that works like a dream off just usb power

i have a 500 gb la cie with power supply and it doesnt work

Thanks for this guide and the time spent, its awesome. I noticed there was no rev 14 or rev 15 installer. Does this take place or do the same thing as Wanin's cios38 rev 14 or 15? My wii was done a while ago with TH and Wanin's cios revs. This is the first Wii I've done from scratch in a while. I usually just update to Wanin's latest cios, so not to see it at all was surprising.
EDIT: I see its a wad install instead of a network install. (Slaps Face).

Hey thanks for the great guide.

I have modded about 10 Wii's before except they were ALL 3.4 or below when I modded them and updated them to 4.0 after modding.

Right now I have my Sister's brand new sealed Wii straight from the store and I am going to mod it for her before she opens it for xmas as my gift to her (load her up with usb loader etc)

I have never modded a 4.0-4.2 wii before and since I technically do not have her approval since it is a gift for her I want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I have a simple question... In step 1...Update to 4.2 ...
You specifically say: "Follow this if your not on 4.2 yet" ... what if the Wii is already on 4.2 and is completely virgin? Do we skip these steps and continue onto the next stage? Or do we follow these steps to install a "modded" 4.2?

Thanks in advance. And I noticed your notes about smoking many bowls... well keep on my friend and there will be much green in your future...

The homebrew channel came back upside down after trucha bug restorer step. Do I just re-install homebrew channel?

EDIT: Fixed the upside down homebrew channel. Now After Installing Priiloader it wont boot the system menu. This also happend updating to priiloader on a friends wii. Any Suggestions? I pulled the system menu wad from NUSD to get it fixed before, then ran the 0.29 (preloader) installer and no semi
brick.

Is it safe to use Dop-IOS MOD v9 ? I followed your guide on many wii and it works great. I am going to do another wii and came across Dop-IOS MOD v9 and was wondering if it is better than dopios_v7 ?

yes you can skip those steps if the wii is already on 4.2 out of the box, which is going to be super unlikely.
Read the steps slowly and clearly, everything works fine if you know how to read

So what do I do for my 3.4E with hbc already installed?

I want to be able play wiiware,vc,gamecube and wii backups, withouit fearing a brick from the latest update.

Hi yall. Me L3xii again. Anyways my lil brother just bought a Brand new Nintendo Wii from costco which was running 4.0U (obviously since i am from US/CALI). So I followed this guide as I have done before in the past with no problems. Anyways I ran in to a little problem today. As soon as I was done with the installation I Used homebrew browser and installed mplayer ce. However It was never able to play the DVD. I installed mplayer ce before on other wiis and it worked fine but it wont work for this wii for some reason. I even downloaded the mplayer ce from wiibrew.org and also tried mplayer tt and that didn't work either. Does anyone know why this is happening and have a suggestion in order to fix this. Thanks guys. Like i said its not a big huge problem, i would just like to get this to work. thanks guys

It says to proceed to install the remaining 36 different IOS files & Shopping Channel-NUS-v18.wad, but the update.zip wad folder only has 28 total files.

I got everything done, but on my Wii Menu, in the box that has the Wii Disc Channel (We have Wii Fit Plus inside the Wii), it says Wii System Update. Okay so what do I do to prevent my Wii from screwing me over? Oh and remember, I need to make this idiot proof.

The only part I couldn't do was the deletion of the stub IOS's because I had none of the ones listed (I came from 3.3u Twilight Hack mod). Anyway is there a way to get Wii Fit Plus working through the disc channel as Gecko OS might be too complicated for my siblings (even though I have a piece of paper that tells them how to do things. I do have Gecko OS running for the time being).

I'm guessing there is no way to get Wii Fit Plus (retail copy my step-mom bought) working through the disc channel since it's requiring a system update. Alright, I'll just hope my stupid siblings don't fuck up my Wii by updating. Thanks anyway.

look back a couple pages......

I did, there is nothing there except the original post and of course help requests for others.

umm.......did you click on the link i posted and read the post it led to?

Oops! I got a little confused since it was quoting someone else's post. Now will I have to do that each and every time or will it work just once?
