I can't report much good at this time.
frown.gif

-Dr Mario Online mentions the savegame being corrupt, and that I should remove it from the system menu (the same thing kylster reported)
-Tetris party just black screens EDIT: I was wrong...this was because of a wrong screen setting
-Swords and soldiers: same error (refuses to get past the black screen)
-nand redirection folder: still a no go area for me
+sonic 4 seems to work fine.

All tests with beta6, base 38. The strange thing is that I can't find the log file (ffs_log.txt, right?). Is that supposed to be on the SD card or the USB? And is there some setting to enable it somewhere?

IIRC there isn't any setting u need to enable, it is saved automatically to the root of w/e device your emulated nand is on. (ie. emulated nand on USB, log will be @ USB:\ffs_log.txt). (Also note that I am just repeating what I read somewhere, I haven't been able to test it personally, thx for your continued support in testing this!)

Can I just ask is there a limit to the ammount of files I can put on the emulated NAND? If I load all the one's I have (like 400+) It cant get the game list, but If I load using (on the same NAND image) just a few (think its roughly 15) it works a treat no crashing at all. Im using b5 MC's and the latest beta cIOS.

@Wever
Be sure to use MC beta5MOD for nand path.

The log file should be on the root of the device where the nand is.
If you can't find it you're likely using a d2x cios lesser then v3beta6, you can download it here.

About Tetris Party just remove and install it on the nand again.
It happend to me too with v3beta4 IIRC.

@joonapie
Theoretically the only limit is the device size.
Anyway it's better you test the cios with no more than 10-15 games installed at a time on the nand.

I've followed these installation instructions for the fourth time now (and I'm also using that MM modification). Even skipping my personal part where I change the slot numbers in showmiiwads to my own setup. Sorry, but it simply won't create a log file for me.
frown.gif

(just like it won't change the path of the nand).

...and while I was typing, s&s started. Perhaps the loading time is even longer than I assumed (2-3 minutes).

In other news:
-the tetris party is okay (it lost its force screen setting)
-Zelda ocarina of time simply worked fine no matter what base IOS I threw at it (38, 56, 57).

...this is, of course, assuming I DO have beta 6 on my wii.

Okay, 2 problems with your meta.xml, first, its set to use IOS2.... it should be set to 249 (or some other slot with a cIOS, like 250... but not 2 unless u've done some uncommon cIOS installations to your Wii)

secondly, I'm assuming you have your emulated nand saved to the root of the hard drive, if this is the case, you need change the path from "/nand" to "/"

So you should make the following changes to your meta.xml
QUOTE said:
--ios=249
--auto=USB
--partition=0
--path=/nand

so it looks like this
QUOTE
--ios=249
--auto=USB
--partition=0
--path=/

edit: dave, beat me to it! lol

Sorry

It was an error of writing, of course it is set with 250.

And my nand is in the nand folder.

As I said the non mod with nand on root is working but the mod with nand path and nand in the nand folder always give me the same error.

Hey guys I posted on the wrong thread. I'm having the same problems as
Gan1664. Does anyone know why? I'm getting the "I can't get title list -1" error.
I just installed cIOSX d2x v3beta6, and mighty_channels_beta5_MOD_d2x_v3beta5 today.
Before just had cIOSX d2x v3beta5 and mighty_channels_beta5. I have all my nand folders

* import
* meta
* Shared1
* Shared2
* sys
* ticket
* title
* tmp

in a folder on the root of my usb called nand. I havent had any problems until today. Heres my
meta.xml below. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you checked if the partition is correct?
And how do you start MC?, if you use a channel forwarder, you are probably not using the one that supports arguments.

Is this the ret=-3 error? I seem to be hitting this as well, but only with ciosx rev21 (all variants), not rev17.

@Etheboss

I'm thinking the partition is correct, and I think I only have one partition. Never tried
to make any other partitions on this external harddrive. Also the forwarder
I used I believe does pass meta arguments as I had no problem with that before.
I would launch from the forwarder and homebrew channel with no problem.

The forwarder is titled Mighty Channels - MIGH (IOS58+meta.xml support).wad, or at least
thats the name of the wad from it, so with the meta.xml support in it I would tend to believe it should
pass the meta.xml. I havent had any problems with anything up until now when I tried cIOSX d2x v3beta6, and mighty_channels_beta5_MOD_d2x_v3beta5 today. Any suggestions on anything I should
or can do?

Well, i am out of ideas, maybe yo can run some tests to see what happens...this might be usefull info for davebaol or marc_max.

1. move nand to the root and edit meta.xml, see what happens when you start MC.
2. install the cios you are using on slot 246 to slot 249 and edit meta.xml, see what happens when you start MC.

maybe one of them can tell whats wrong...

@Etheboss

I tried step 1 "1. move nand to the root and edit meta.xml, see what happens when you start MC"

And Mighty loaded fine this way through forwarder and homebrew channel. So not sure
what it could be? Seems like it doesn't want to read --path=/nand for me.

For now I guess I'll just have to leave it as is. I guess no reason to go back to mighty_channels_beta5
if mighty_channels_beta5_MOD_d2x_v3beta5 will work with nand on root I can just leave it like
it was.

Just wanted to clean up my folders a bit thats all. I kind of have my cIOS 249 setup for
config usb I think, allthough not sure, but I could try it if need be.

Maybe I'll just leave it as is.
Possibly mighty channels beta6 will have --path=/nand and maybe then I can try that and see if it works.

@freestile, i am going to try using emunand in a folder and see if it worsks for me.
ATM, i have the emunand on the root bc of sneek so i didn't test it yet...

If it doesn't work for me, i think davebaol needs to check the arg code.

Ok, here is my theory.
Since you are using slot 246 you used "Advanced Custom Downloads" in ModMii or ShowMiiWads to change the slot.
Did you also changed the version of the cios?
You can check it with syscheck. Which version has the cios in slot 246?
If it's not v21 then MC beta5MOD ignores --partition and --path arguments.

QUOTE(fldc @ Feb 23 2011, 03:27 AM) This is a log of mighty channels starting up with to many games for rev21d2x to handle

"could not get game list! ret=-3"
Thanks for the report, I'll get a look at it.
And please tell me how many games are installed in your nand.

Hee, good one, ppl might have changed the version number to prevent the cIOS from being deleted by an update.
I think this info is very important to know.
