I'll need more info. :P

I know how to boot in dvd/usb, what i meant is how to boot the Windows installed on the hdd/sdd in case the bootloader is broken.
Ah, I see what you're saying. Then yeah, delete your EFI partition, boot from a Live USB or something and then reinstall GRUB

@Jayro
Is it possible with Medicat to boot into Windows if the bootloader is broken?

example:
Dual boot Ubuntu/Windows
Remove Ubuntu
Grub broken
Can't repair Windows bootloader (the bootrec /fixboot, /fixMBR, /rebuildBCD don't work)
Yes, you can boot into the recovery disc of your Windows OS and do automatic startup repair. Or you can boot into Mini Windows 10 and run EasyBCD. I believe the partitioning app included also has an MBR restoration tool in it. You can also boot the SuperGrubDisk2 if you want to restore Grub. So there's a few options on the MediCat DVD.

The final ISOs are uploading as of this post, so I'll most-likely release it today in a few hours once the 6 ISO uploads are done. (3 to mega, and the same 3 to Mediafire) I have to work tomorrow, and really don't want to have work interfere with the release, so I'm busting my balls to get these uploaded. :yaysp:

No, 2GB minimum should boot it just fine. He may just have the wrong virtualbox settings. Here's my setup:

I feel I have been given the chance of a lifetime to give back to the PC repair community with my MediCat project. I will be here all summer long for the next 6 months to give support where I can here in this thread. Don't be afraid to PM me if you have any questions or concerns. I will now be taking a much needed and deserved break from this for a while, clean up 10's of gigabytes of space on my SSD, and take some time out to myself. My low financial status and illness was putting a strain on me the last couple of months, and this project kept my mind off of it all. I am now bouncing back though, and things are getting better in both aspects. :yaysp:

Rufus (at default settings) is the recommended tool to make the ISOs bootable from USB devices, but others like YUMI and Unetbootin, etc may work as well. I just haven't tested them.

Awesome update! One question though: I edited the iso to remove mini windows 10 so I could burn it on a normal dvd, and some experimenting later, the best I can get is that when I boot it up and select continue, it goes back to the first menu, putting me in a loop. I used imgburn to make the iso file, and I selected to make it bootable, sector count 4, boot file as isolinux.bin and had patch boot information table enabled. All else was default. I would have used ultraiso, but the free version is limited to 300mb. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Just burned this to, like, 20 DVD's. (Not selling them, giving them to a few friends and keeping a few for myself in case they get damaged.)

Very good work! Now I can have a Portable Windows 10 USB (without the slow Windows To Go BS):grog::grog::grog:

I use a portable version of UltraISO. Its preactivated.

Mega link isn't working, it redirects to My files (while i'm logged in) or to Mega's homepage
I'll fix it when I get home, I'm still getting used to cloud services.

I wanted to go a bit retro... simulating an 1980's amber CRT screen. I dunno if I captured the feel or not, but i tried. I wish I could change the syslinux font. I'd use the Ubuntu font in a heartbeat.

(By the way, this was just for fun. I like experimenting with new ideas.)

I like it

Why does the date say 1986, though?

To reflect the retroness... I guess. XD

I also re-upped the MediCat ISO (with new hashes) because I had to fix a Linux.cfg menu label error; I forgot to label it: - Lubuntu Linux -

And also fixed the Mega link. All should be working now. Also, post #400 is mine! :grog:
