Just tried 3.8 with latest Decrypt9WIP bin (today's release).
If I use the usepatchedfw flag, I cannot boot Decrypt9 with L+R. Is this normal?
If I remove the usepatchedfw flag, it works.
I already tried removing the _patched files. I have no other flag files yet.

Delete all your reiNAND stuff, could be that they're conflicting with each other.
I deleted my rei folder and copied over a new one.

I downloaded the firmware files from the link in the README, and put \reifirms2\rei-n3ds\firmware.bin in my rei folder, and I also put in firmware90.bin. I also put the splash screen in the rei folder.

It still hangs after it boots. I see the splash screen before that, though.

I'm trying to boot into 10.6 emunand.

No, it's not normal. The usepatchedfw detection is done way after the L+R detection. Make sure that you're having a cold boot (= you're booting the console from a powered off state).

No lol :P

Put the firmware.bin file in the /rei/ folder, not those other folders. Also put firmware90.bin in the /rei/ folder.

So, even though I'm without my 3DSes, @Apache Thunder suggested a cool idea, adding support for a bottom screen splash image. Must have a resolution of 320x240 and be placed as "splashbottom.bin" in the rei folder.
It was really easy to add and makes cool things possible (this is something he did for testing) :D:

Other than that, I made it skip the splash if boot options are being forced on soft reboot :)

Sorry for the noob question but i just can't find an answere. Whats difference between firmware.bin and firmware90.bin and why would i want to boot into one versus the other. I'm still trying to piece all this information together. Thx

firmware.bin is a 10.x firm, so you can boot firmware such as 10.6.
firmware90.bin is the 9.0 FIRM, so you can boot firmwares from 9.0-9.2.

It's recommended to have both in the /rei/ folder.

So what would happen if i press R on boot if my sysnand is currenty on 9.2? And what would i still need firm90 if i for go emunand all together and just use an updated sysnand?

You can't use arm9 stuff on a 10.x FIRM. Things such as Decrypt9. You would need to boot into 9.2 with the 9.0 FIRM, which is done by pressing L at boot, not R.

Ok i understand. But in the original post it says holding R will boot into sysnand with firmware.bin. Holding L will boot into sysnand with firmware90.bin. Anyway, thanks for the information:)
