Yeah, I'm going to check how much I have left in my paypal and get the new version. I want to see the improvements for myself.

Change Log BTW:

2.6 Really runs better but now there are some grafic bugs ... at least for me.

grafikbugls3.jpg

yes, his software renderer does not like pokemon. a lot of other games work much better. if you prefer the slower opengl mode you can still switch to that.

on a side note: am i the only one surprised by the fact that SOFTWARE RENDERING is FASTER than openGL here?

Yah, bad form, but hey it's a piracy site...anyone know where to get this 2.6 to try it out? I wasn't going to give him a dime for that pay scam a few years ago, and he's at it again crying poverty on another huge milestone. Convenient...very convenient. If he's that broke, then I'm sure he can go out and get a real job instead of trying to pull cash out of emulator sales so I'm not buying the 'food on the table' and motivation bit at all.

Ahh...nevermind my last post. I found it linked up through a Japanese site. It's quite impressive.

Sorry but I'm not paying for something I can't get any use out of due to my dust farting 6 1/2 year old PC (P4 1.5ghz.) The only thing I can run 100% is Cooking Mama and Zookeeper and the last version did that already.

I'm not fond of mandatory donations since that's an oxymoron of sorts... nevertheless, it's much smarter than Project64's $20 mandatory donation for the 1.7 beta. You know what? Screw mandatory donations, it's a purchase price and nothing more or less. Besides, unless it comes from Germany, the amount he'll end up with is $2.50 * .961 (PayPal's normal fee [2.9% + international fee [1%]) - $0.30 = $2.10 each.

Making donations mandatory is BS and is just a way of making people not a customer and making them a contributor. I don't care if he charges for it, just have the brass to call it a cost and not a donation. Rant over, meanwhile, the first post was updated to account for this new donate and download system.

^Yup and that fairly well is my beef with the guy and has been for as long as NO$ the concept has been around. Launched with the idea that you get the best and most accurate for NO CASH...but with each of the popular use units (GB, GBA, GBA(NDS in this case) when there is a huge jump in quality where he hits a specific threshhold you'll get a lot of patch up fixes and little things in the run up. Then the big one comes out and Martin gets up on a pedestal and either craps on the 'evil pirate leeches', the rom whores, freeloaders, and so on and then demands payment in the form of a donation, or just cuts people off and expects a huge sum of money to get the dev part of it with the emulator end too. It's just slimy, overdone, and redone enough times.

I got it as I said, and if someone wants a link I can supply it via PM, but out of respect for this site I won't do it in this thread in the open. I already publicly posted it at retrogames.com's current affairse board under another acct of mine last night.

...it's $2.50. You can't part with $2.50? Or wait a mere month or two until you can get it for free? During that time, you could play the hundreds of games that are playable with the version you have right now.

Some people would complain if they got hanged with a new rope. Which probably costs more than the no$gba donation anyway.

Personally, I have a Nintendo DS with an M3 Lite Perfect... have a working emulator for me is really just a hobby type thing seeing how well it works... that and playing NSMB at work

(did I say that out loud?)

I think he actually raises more of an issue for himself as people will say "well I paid for this, I expect fixes for this, this, and this." I don't care about the amount of money, just the way it's presented. I can EASILY part with $2.50, I just refuse to do it when I'm BSed into it being a donation and not a purchase. I always thought he was a hobbyist programmer and didn't use this as a career... and if that's not the case, he needs to find a real job.

^Winner. That's my beef, not the piddly $2.50. You're being bs'd into a forced donation in the most shady way possible. See Ponzi, he was a hobbyist, but the sick thing is and this has been going for years, everytime his major app of the day gets to a huge update it quickly goes to some form of a pay setup. My beef is that if you're going to pull that shit, why the hell are you calling it NO CASH for then? Be up front...say that in time when this hits a certain benchmark in quality I intend to charge for it when the quality is there and for now it is free as you're helping me sort out issues. Just be honest...that's it, and drop the whole bait and switch tactic as it sucks.

...and yah I can afford $2.50, but in its current state it's not worth money of any sum as it is fairly incomplete still, and furthermore I have a P4 1.5ghz machine here...99% of the games run like shit so much as speed goes. Outside of Cooking Mama and Zookeeper which can run at 100% most the time, the rest and specifically 3D does 30-50% so it's fairly useless.

yeah i don't like it as well, but if you would programm something that many people badly want and have problems cuz of to less money i believe you would do the same.

and who knows how long he will do this, maybe he got enough money already and will change back to completely free after the next one or two releases.

P.S. if you buy a game or other software you pay the programmers as well ... as programmer for a big company you can earn very very much. nowadays you get even more than just a normal it expert sometimes.

To my understanding. He will continue update 2.6a and so on for donators only but donators will not pay it again because they already did once and will get update continously until 2.7 is release to the public for free.

Free? I dont believe you.

Believe whatever you want. After I donate it to him. The message came up with many but this:

Many thanks for helping to continue the project!

Notes:

Blah blah blah

(so, you may want to bookmark this page, so you won't need to donate twice).

Then this:

QUOTE
Please don't copy the newest version to other people,
best let them send their own donations,
or else they can download the current version for free once
when the next newer version comes out.

See ?

from your previous post its very possible to think that 2.7 will be free again ...
and that might be what he does not believe ... and now your posts says that when 2.7 is out 2.6 is free which is the correct one.

I got 2.6a because I am donator and it is so much improvement. Very impressive!!!! Jaw-dropping!

^I'm surprised as his website said you have to pay $2.50 per version right where the link sits.

Either way I found it using google.

Have not tried it yet mind you as there's not much of a need on my dinosaur pc.
