Please don't "translate" Overscan.
...

Feel free to PM me with changes. I know there are some other strings that could be optimized. Also you can upload a more accurate translated file here too. :D

@Cyan
Is it possible to get a wider settings appearance in GX, e.g. max_screen_width? There is much space on a 16:9 screen, that could be used for long(er) strings instead of shrinking the right column and making the left one wider. Anyway I would suggest to have fixed sizes for both columns and longer strings to be scrollable not only on the right column.

Fixed "Overscan" and some other strings.

I understand what you say about the fixed left and right width and the size of the setting menu, but I don't understand how the max_screen_width will be used. Isn't it better a menu_width that users (or translator) can choose instead?

Scrolling titles (on the left) may look bad, both left and right text would scroll at the same time if both are too long when the line is selected.
Having wider menu would be great, but if you base our translation on 16:9 then users in 4:3 will have problems with strings being too long.
The fixed size and double scrolling would be the solution, but I think it looks bad.

Also, I think about changing the place of "Gamecube Game" in the Title type menu.
in french, I need more space to fit "channels from Emunand", and since it's on the top right it doesn't fit the menu anymore :(
[]Wii Game :blank: []GC Games
[] Channels on real Nand
[] Channels on emu Nand
That would look better, at least in French.

I wanted to ask other translators if that's ok with you too?

When I wrote "max_screen_width" I thought about something like "let (settings)menus use all available screen width", maybe only as an extra option.

"I think about changing the place of "Gamecube Game" in the Title type menu."
-> Ok.

I see, just a boolean (enable/disable) option to use the full width for the menu when in 16:9. That would still require a scrolling effect for users on 4:3.
The menus are using a background image (it's not just coordinates), so we would need to update all the menus one by one.
I'll suggest it to dimok after he completed his work on the banners, but I don't know if it will be done.

Cyan:
In my opinion, it is the french translation that doesn't make sense and is too long for the screen in "Loader Mode".

msgid "EmuNand Channels"
msgstr "Chaînes sur Émulation Nand des chaînes"

I would suggest :
msgid "EmuNand Channels"
msgstr "Chaînes sur ÉmuNand"

Then everything would fit on a 4:3 screen

yeah, I agree that it looks better.
I only tried to re-use the words found in the settings (user's paths)

There are two EmuNand paths:
Emunand Channels
ÉmuNand for Channels and Channels saves only
and
Emunand
ÉmuNand for Wii game saves only

That's why added the origin of the used nand.
[]Display Channels on real nand
[]Display Channels on Channels Emunand.
(NAND des chaines et non pas la NAND normale)

Dimok already changed the place of the checkbox, even if it doesn't make any problem with the string length, I think it looks better to have both Wii and GC on the same line.

Anyway, Thank you for your comment.
I rarely have comments or suggestions on my translation.
I'll change it in the next language update. It should be implicit that it's using the Nand for the channels and not the one for the saves.

The new beta release (1156 mod1) now supports banner animation and have a new channel mode layout.
As this is only a beta it's not available on SVN, but as there are a lot of changes you can start updating your language file :)

I provide you the last english.lang, you can check the differences with your file or with the previous english version to see added/removed entries.
There's also the new default.them file for themers, with added Channel mode layout informations.

Here my French.lang for 1156 Mod1
Like always, let me know if you find any mistakes or if you have suggestions.

We put back the old font for the credit window, instead of the system font.
If the user have a japanese theme font, it should work. If not, that's because dimok forced the font instead of using the themed one.
