I tried to play the game for the first time the other day bouncing from GameFaqs to the game amd that was uterly stuuuppiiiidddd! Thanks to everyone working on this project I've been watching for months and just wanted to add my support I guess. I'm lucky I got my Supercard working or I would offer assisstance.

@Mieki I am happy to discuss the tools/methods I am using if you want but there is only one small patch released at this time and was pretty much only done to see if peoples carts can take it (answer most DS slot carts can not it seems).

So most DS carts will be unable to use this patch?

Not sure if i misunderstood or not.

I think he's just saying that his test patch didn't work on most carts/ any carts.

The final patch should work on all carts though.

alrite im translating some kenshin stuff (woot my favorite anime!) i hate translating his moves to english, doesnt sound as cool =(

im actually here to see if any translators want to help me with this passage.
相手の動きの先を読み、神速の居合斬りをあびせる！カウンター攻撃
Read your opponent right before he acts, then cut down him down with god-speed! Counter attack.

the problem im having is with 居合斬りをあびせる. literally it would sound really weird. the move in the game is a counter attack that is so fast you dont even see kenshin draw his sword. since 居合 means cutting down one's opponent and sheathing the sword afterwards, this is totally lost in my translation. anyone wanna suggest another translation? or just stick with what i got?

Iai jiree woabisaru I think would be the romaji equivalent which I agree is no fun, especially when compared to the others.

Quick draw counter perhaps? Maybe work premonition or a synonym in there as well.

As for the patch I redone one file and rebuilt it, it seems a lot of carts (save my EZ4) do not agree with ndstool rebuilt roms. It is not a problem to work around it (and I had always intended to do it this way) it is just a lot more complex.

I dont think that works. the passage is describing a move (Hiten no Yomi). you cant define a move with another move. "Hiten no Yomi definition= Dragon Wind Counter" that makes no sense. also, it has nothing to do with amakakeruryu no hirameki.

dont know why im spending so much time thinking about it, no one probably cares how accurate it is anyways. lookin at previous post, everyone just wants something they can play... i guess i can make liberal translations...

That is due to the translation website supporting multiple entries from various translators on a single line of text. This allows different interpretations / renditions of the japanese, to be later analyzed and scanned by proofreaders for the final phase of the translation project. Thus, the number goes beyond 100%.
