I am currently running Haxchii, and looking to move away from Loadiine and towards USB loading. I'm having several issues.

On the same card I've been using with Loadiine, I've downloaded 'CFW booter' and extracted to the apps folder on my SD card, but when attempting to load it from Homebrew Channel (from my SD card, not loadiine.ovh), the load button doesn't do anything. I confirmed cfwboot.elf, icon.png, and meta.xml are in there. Will it not run because its not called boot.elf? This is the program I use to create my initial fw.img right?

Alternately, when I now visit loadiine.ovh, it tries to auto-boot the Homebrew Channel, and my WiiU freezes on a white screen.

I tried using a new microSD card with Adapter (64GB, formatted FAT32), using the various 'starter packs' but once I click on my Haxchii icon, I get a '-4' error.

What a mess, any advice would be appreciated.

OK to get rednand you first need to get a fw.img which you will find on the iso site then you run cfw booter and that creates the rednand. cfw booter won't work without the fw.img on the SD card. The second issue you have is well know issue with homebrew browser 1.4 just keep trying and you will eventually get it to load or on loadiine.ovh change the default to homebrew launcher 1.3 as that loads a lot better.

You dont need a fw.img for rednand.

If you want to to USB loading why not just set up CBHC since you already have Haxchi? It runs sigpatches to sysNAND and then you can install custom channels, install to either USB or sysNAND with DLC support and update support.

redNAND is really more of a "sandbox" that people use to test things out without worry of brick. It has lots of great features but will require space on your SD to run and longer boot times than CBHC. No need for mocha with CBHC.

Yes I am aware of that but the op is using the cfw fw loader app which requires a fw.img to create the rednand. So my answer to him is right.
Yeah, but making the fw.img is hard, and getting it is technically illegal, so people should start moving to Mocha's rednand, which is also more stable and can be safely updated with no brick risk.
