In a desperate attempt i even tried to scan the 9.2.0-13E code with a 6.0 firmware but - of course - it shows: "the home menu ropbin is ready" and then returns to the home screen.

Guess Cooking Mama is the only option here, at least is cheap on amazon.

By any chance if you know whether the 9.2.0-13(U/E/J) QR code will work in their respective region as a replacement for 9.2.0-0(U/E/J)? I am currently facing the same situation, but with a -0U console and read up on a lot of other possibility and tried a few suggestions, but failed.

I bought yesterday my Cooking Mama copy, upgraded the firmware, scanned the 9.2.0-13E code on my 9.2.0-0E console and it launched the homebrew channel! I have some other things to do now but from now on everything should be easy.

So yes, the 9.2.0-13E code of Ninjhax 2.1 works as a replacement for the browserless consoles (in the E version of the firmware at least. I would say that it should work with the U firmware as well. You should give it a try)

[EDIT]As reported launching FBI through Ninjhax2 still doesn't work. I will try the injection as suggested.

Anyway i tried every possible method to launch FBI but nothing worked. I ended up injecting it and it went smooth (i don't really like this method at all, it seems risky to me)

I dumped my sysNAND and my XOR Encryption with Decrypt9, i injected fbi into the H&S app and then re-wrote the modified image onto the nand.

You can follow this guide which is pretty straightforward: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...ect-generator-jpn-usa-eur-chn-kor-twn.391525/ but watch out: you need to write to sysNAND. A failure will result in a brick (it worked like a charm to me)

I even succesfully installed the browser without passing through the sysupdater (the cia is available on that iso site and it works well)

[EDIT]Everything works! As a reference for the future generations:
1) Upgrade sysNAND to 9.0.2-0 via cart
2) Use Ninjhax2 with the code for 9.0.2-13
3) Launch Decrypt9 from Ninjhax to dump sysNAND and XORpad
4) Inject FBI into the dump and write it to sysNAND using Decrypt9
5) Launch PastaCFW from Ninjhax, then Healt&Safety APP and then install the browser's CIA downloaded from that iso site
6) REBOOT! It won't work if you don't reboot (i lost half an hour before figuring it out)
7) Now you have an exploitable browser.

Edit: I just took the risk (not before making a nand backup) and updated just fine to 9.0 with rxtools in devmode

Or just : ninjhax2 -> pasta -> ninjhax2 -> fbi (ninjhax version) -> Install FBI/BBM (cia version) and the browser. Then you can create your emunand.
(if you want to use the eshop spoof on your sysnand, you will need to fully update your console to 9.2.0-20 though)

was using an old rxtools nightly build from september along with sysupdater 0.4.1 and successfully updated from 7.2 to 9.2

I suspect you used game cart update to get to 7.2.0, so your H&S app is older version which is incompatible with rxTools FBI injection.

Or in case you are not comfortable with NAND injection method, you may try to downgrade to 4.x using Gateway downgrader -> install MSET -> set up PBT CFW -> Install FBI over WIFI -> Install sysupdater* -> update to 9.2 in PBT CFW mode (PBT CFW is safe to use sysupdater, too).

*: Not sure whether you can install sysupdater properly over WIFI because when I followed the old guide, its instruction is using FBI/Dev_menu to install sysupdater. So for safety sake (which I tested myself), install FBI/dev_menu over WIFI. Then use FBI/dev_menu to install sysupdater.

*EDIT* I need to clarify my original post. I have FBI installed over the H&S app no problem. I used it to install sysupdater 4.1. Sysupdater 4.1 is what doesn't show up on my home menu.

Sorry to double post, but that guide is for getting FBI on your system. I have FBI over the H&S app. It is system updater that installs, but doesn't show up.

So FBI injection into H&S app and sysupdater were installed successfully? Make sure you install sysupdater in rx SYSNAND mode; in FBI destination is SD.

I had installed it to destination nand. When I changed it to SD it worked. I thought SD meant emunand since the emunand is on the SD card. Thanks for the trouble shooting help.

Check after half an hour. Don't do anything (you are very near to be able to update to 9.2). I am busy right now.

Edit: Here it is: It's the same steps as in this guide (this guide is very much updated. Just that it's a little different per specific case):

Below is how I personally did with the O3DS. (I am not sure whether you have Gateway flashcart or not):

Back up Nand and store it safely on PC using GW launcher.dat. Google "Gateway 3DS and you can find the download GAteway Ultra 3.4.1 zip under download section.

Download sysupdater (don't use version 0.4b!!). Put sysupdater.cia on the root of SD. Link is on OP.

Google "[MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions)"

Download 9.2 firmware. Create a folder named "updates" on the root of SD. Put all 9.2 firmware cia files downloaded inside the "updates" folder. Make sure you download the right firmware for your region, model (O3DS vs N3DS)!

Boot into Palantine CFW. Install sysupdater using devmenu/FBI onto the sysnand. Start sysupdater.cia (if you don't have FBI/devmenu just install it, then use it to install sysupdater).

After sysupdater installation is complete. Turn sysupdater on. Hit A to update (make sure you don't interrupt midway. Put your charger on, too!). Wait and profit!

I don't think you can downgrade from 4.X, and there's no point anyway. if it's for ds flashcart compatibility, you can just downgrade the whitelist and the twl_firm.

Does this mean you can keep the flash-cart compatibility with higher (9.2 firmware)?
