a few notes on the real one the, my fake was actually built better, stickers not on straight and tf card doesnt fit flush

Got a further two cards forrm dx today same sku (sku 15613)after a lengthy chat..And yes no problems..The card being a dstt card and not cndstt,Thats not taking anything away from cnddst,they seem to have an argument between themselves..And i think it's up to cnddst to sort their kernal out for their card..In the same way they sorted the label out..

Plus stop using a language translator..(Justification) lol..for the word version... As has already been stated if you stuck ndstt v1.16 on your fake then you have problems..But in know way is the card useless..

But thats not up to me, thats up to cndstt to get their fingers out..

Are all fakes glued?

Also regarding the fakes ...without opening it (can't because it's glued tightly shut!) if i peer inside my DSTT i can see the C6 written on the PCB, as well as the DSTT 7 visible through the white bars over the interface and that the 8th bar along (which is slightly longer than the ones to each side) has a hole in it. Just looking at the fake images this has all the trademarks of Fake Number 5...is there any possiblity that a real version would have all these things?

Oh...and the MicroSD slot isn't spring loaded either...is that bad too?

No, unless they couldn't get it to fit back again,but that could happen with the likes of Dx checking them before they post. .The new ndstt card has already been posted..But as i previously stated that does not mean the cndstt card is useless..

I was wondering what was up with these chips. I got a batch of 5 around a month ago and the ones that ran 1.16 are dead. The menu comes up, but nothing else loads.

I guess in the meantime use 1.15 until replacements come. Will the card run fine with 1.15?

Use 1.15. The only difference is that 1.16 fixes one obscure Japanese game, but there are reports that 1.16 kills some flash carts. There is definitely no reason to use 1.16 unless you simply must play that one game.

As of right now, I have 3. They're not "real" DSTT supposedly, but 1.15 works so far. So that says something.


Of course if you have an original there shouldn't be any worries.

If you are referring,to a genuine dstt card then your comment is correct..But in the same context very mis-leading info to members..
As for "no such report like Bri claims" Take a trip to ndstt.com and you'll see that v1.16 fix is for * fixed some errors of 2838 rom..
Bri was stating to use v1.15 has Rankio dosen't have a genuine dstt card..Pay attention and do yourself a favour,lose the attitude..

Not necessarily. Some have suggested that the DSTT team may have put code into the 1.16 firmware to damage fakes intermittently to make it look like the fakes are failing on their own. Again, I don't know if it's true or not, but it's certainly possible. Given that 1.16 fixes only one game it seems prudent (even if you're currently using 1.16) to use 1.15 instead, particularly if you don't know for certain that you DSTT is real.

The cards i got from dx 3 weeks ago were fakes..The ones i recieved yesterday again from dx are genuine and run v1.16.A quick tell tale is the sd slot is on the left hand side of this card..

Certainly possible.And hazarding a guess maybe depending on what fake people have 1.16 will play different tricks..I personally can only comment on fake 6..
Which failed 10 mins after sticking 1.16 on.Re-formatting the sd and putting 1.15 on,had no effect.Yes you can still re-boot the ds twenty times and eventually all will work..
But as you said, I am playing it safe and 1.15 will go on them all in the future..Unless dstt decide to add it, if not already to previous versions.So keeping a clean 1.15 might be advisable..

I agree that it's probably safe to assume that once your flash cart has been bricked by 1.16, putting 1.15 on it won't help. However, if you're using 1.16 and you haven't (yet) bricked your flash cart, it's still advisable to switch to 1.15 in my opinion since some have reported that they were able to use 1.16 (sometimes for weeks) before it bricked their flash cart.
