I wonder if we can rip the 2nd layer of brawl (the one with the SSE movies) and modify the first so it loads the second from other DVD5. So, when we complete the level we swap discs to see the cutscenes.

I completed classic mode with Pit, no green screen or anything. Not sure about Adventure mode, as I didn't play through that. Will probably play through that later in the evening.

-- MD5's of isos involved (obtained using OpenSSL 0.9.7e, WinXP, 32bit):
ssbb.iso (WIIZARD dvd9): a3529d34e5afbe43ac948df0770b0a02
sssb_dvd5.iso: 105cbd3ce534ce5baf8e5d3ecff31ccb

Note that these md5s do not match those of previous posters. I cannot account for that. I was very careful in
replacing the files, but I have not finished Subspace mode with this iso, so I have to admit the possibility exists
that a mistake was made.

Hmmm the first problem I see is that your ssbb.iso MD5 doesn't match mine which is d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087
I thought at first that maybe OpenSSL did it differently but I confirmed and got the same results that matched the MD5 GUI program I ran. Did you by some chance modify your DVD9?

This would explain why your final checksum doesn't match anyone else. I'm guessing if your starting image doesn't match other people's then the patch you're providing won't work?

I guess to make this complete here are the MD5 of all 3 images:

d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087 *ssbbdvd9.iso
e56e8a51148e711996bd9ffc4e779244 *ssbb(scrub).iso
a48e89fdccd65bf1f90e141436ebd354 *ssbbdvd5.iso

Short version:

My patch is ok to use. Ignore my md5s from my prev post and readme. Use CuriousG's md5's though as mine were fubar'd. After rechecking mine, it confirms that my isos match what they should be. I'll up a new patch one the sora_ending file replacement update is confirmed working too.

Detailed version:

I re-extracted a fresh copy of the dvd9 image I got from usenet, wzrd-ssbb.rar (81 files). I checked the md5 again and got the following same md5 (a3529d34e5afbe43ac948df0770b0a02). The command line I used was 'openssl md5 "Super Smash Bros. Brawl.iso"'. (This is the original filename from the archive. Filename does not affect md5).

I tried another program on the fresh dvd9, "hksfv", and got the same md5 as yours (d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087), so I don't know what openssl is doing. I installed the latest version of openssl (OpenSSL 0.9.8g 19 Oct 2007) and now have it reporting the same CuriousG md5s. Must have been a bug in version I had.

Ignore the previous md5 values I gave in the readme. I used hksfv to generate a md5 for the resultant dvd5 iso and got the same as CuriousG's value: a48e89fdccd65bf1f90e141436ebd354

Thanks for discovering that, CuriousG.

As someone else already said, mediafire is frequently down. Can someone please post the essential files (the ones in the first message - tutorial) elsewhere (rapidshare or so)? Thanks..

abc99 perhaps you can re upload the patch you made to another site?

Thank man

abc99's dvd9 -> dvd5 patch on rapidshare:
http://rapidshare.com/files/99259822/ssbb_..._patch.rar.html

Note:
- Readme in rar updated to include correct CuriousG-approved md5s.

- This does not include wiifriend's latest sora_ending file replacement. You'll probably want to Trucha that
yourself.

Weird, pretty weird...
My DVD9 Wiizard iso md5 is d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087 like CuriousG posted (using hksv). After using WiiScrubber I didn't get the same md5 you guys got. Even if I use filechop to reduce the size to 4,699,979,776 bytes.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for upping this, wiifriend.

If we don't need to '#001 error' fix, it is ok to use the main.dol with the 001 fix applied?
