The figures Nintendo gave investors is not what many 3DS what sold to consumers, but what many shipped to stores.

It needs emulators running desperatly to keep everyone interested between good releases. Come on hackers!!!BlueStar said:It'll be a slow burner just like the DS was. People are always scolding Nintendo, "Why don't you do this like Sony, why don't you do that like Microsoft, why don't you do that like Apple" and Nintendo just keeps on acting like Nintendo and making hugely successful machines.
That said, I'm looking forward to the update tomorrow to give me a reason to dust off my 3DS. Bored of the launch games now and don't care about OOT, so I'm waiting patiently for something to play.
Amen. December and June are Nintendo's big months (for the rest of the year, unless they release the red 3DS somewhere in the middle...) of 2011 for the games. Kid Icarus is coming out, as is OoT and everyone who has (or is getting) a 3DS is wanting those games.chris888222 said:Trust me, sales will go crazy when those great games come out. People also won't really bother about the price.
I don't really agree with your claims on the 3DS but I agree with the NGP. I feel that the NGP is becoming lesser of a game console. It is not really the true rival of the 3DS.Panzer Tacticer said:The only concrete positive I can think of for the 3DS, is it isn't from Sony (which likely will be lucky to sell doowah if they don't get their security PR hell in order).
But so what the 3DS is from a company that is at least selling and not suffering.
3D is NOT I repeat NOT so special as to make me drop 300 bucks on a return to a small screened hand held game device.
Sony is NOT the competition, and the NGP is NOT the toy to beat. The toy to keep up with will look like an iPad, cost half the price, run a real OS and play viturally any software worth mention. Remember, as we speak, my laptop can run anything Nintendo makes eh. Not such a stretch for a hand held doodad with a touch screen and as useful as an iPad and 3 times the viewing area.
The puny screened 3DS is utterly unthrilling. And all it does is offer you games, which are not even present currently.
Of course the thing is not setting massive sales records.
I think it's funny that those that bought it, bought it at all.
300 bucks? I'd rather hold out a couple of more months wait till I had 500 bucks, and bought something truly useful.
I have a DSi XL Nintendo, I don't need your unthrilling 3d gimic.

lol to you sir. well i guess your not the target market and you obviously dont know what your missing out on then. i got my 3ds for 25$ by trading in my dsi and like 7 wii games when they had the deals at gamestop... so i guess ill have to suffer.......... and i think i can agree with all the other people who own a 3ds as of this moment that , you sir are crazy to think that an ipad could even get close to fulfilling my gaming needs....(theres no buttons, and anyone who actually plays more than "Angry Birds" on their ipad/phone would also agree that the pads lack the ability to have in depth gaming experience) the screen really isnt that small when you are in the middle of fighting hordes of enemies in 3d in samurai warriors, (cant wait for revelations/mercenaries)or fighting an 8 foot dragon in your living room(providing you have enough brains to make your AR card bigger)so i guess in conclusion , dont get it as you obviously do not see either the potential of the system or motion control.......(waiting to play COD on 3ds where you move the 3ds to aim like cod on the wii)Panzer Tacticer said:The only concrete positive I can think of for the 3DS, is it isn't from Sony (which likely will be lucky to sell doowah if they don't get their security PR hell in order).

What?
They told investors they shipped 3.6 million worldwide in the fiscal year 2010.
Shipped means they sent the devices to store.
The term they use is very important.
Not saying I'm right, just saying that how I remember it.

Truth be told, the 3DS is doing better than the DS at this point in its current lifecycle. It is threads like these which make people's perception stray otherwise. Having said that, the high price is a bit of a bother.KingVamp said:I need a link because the way I remember it was they "sold" 3.61 million missing the 4 million mark.Nollog said:What?KingVamp said:' Cause they didn't say they sold 3.61 million.
