They really fucked up, plastering it with warnings and shit. You may not have noticed this, but the American public is really, really susceptible to hysteria. Look at the past. Witches, gay dudes, women, dungeons and dragons, Jack Thompson's cases... it's all been feared and hated at one point, for one reason or another. Usually because one person says some bullshit "fact" and everyone freaks the fuck out. It's likely that Nintendo's main audience, terrible parents who use video games as a babysitter, are freaked out by the warnings.

If they had 10 fricking aaaaaawesome games out for it on day one, I still doubt it would be enough.

Come on, fact is, the pre 3DS units have THOUSANDS of titles to work with (even if admittedly a lot of them are nauseating little girl games).

The 3DS needs to offer us something WE SIMPLY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT. It hasn't done that.

Saw the Vita and to be honest, I am unsure it is must have either. Even if spec wise it is fractionally better than a 3DS, chances are all it can say is, well your laptop won't fit in a pocket. That's simply not worth X hundreds of bucks.

Mark my words, they will have a doodad on the market that can read a pdf file in decent size, and browse the web on a screen that doesn't cause eye strain from a screen that is too small, and run videos and music on a device meant for it and not having dedicated controllers simply won't be as big a handicap as some wish to think it has to be.

This is my current fixation. Motorola Xoom.
Display Resolution 1280 x 800
Display Size 10.1 Inches
Display Type LCD
Touchscreen Yes

10 inch screen now were talking.
Not sure how capable the Android OS is with running PC software is all. But then most of my wargames are low tech no challenge programs.
And 32 gigs of built memory is ok with me.

Fortunately I am not limited by things like price tags. 600 bucks is really just saving a few months. I could have this before the next snow fall if it mattered to me.
