Hacking How many people are unable to update their R4ids.cn cards

Hi

I'm one of those who has a card with the metroid icon that fails to update. I'm curious to know how many of us are in that boat. Are we a tiny minority as the r4ids.cn team claim, or are lots of cards effected.

I appreciate that this poll will be pretty biased towards people with the problem, as we are the ones constantly scanning GBAtemp for any news, but never the less I think it might be interesting to see the numbers.

If we are many, then it bodes well for the r4ids.cn team to try and come up with a solution.

It really sucks, i mean i can wait for a patch but i need to claim the free ninty game till Jan 31 so i hope we will see the game till then.

Are you sure you have a legit r4i DS?

From what i've seen sometimes fakes wont accept some of the updates it could be the small number of reports the R4 team has got has been from unknowing fake card users. Not saying you do or do not mind you

Just a thought thats all as I've seen with the DSTT that company went as far as to make fake DSTT killers

You should've checked the "News" page of R4ids.cn:

we are still working on those old revision cards(and few revision "c")

As far as I know, Wood has a fake killer -> it would've destroyed every card that's not exactly the right one. In addition, we won't be able to use a fake card with the official wood.

I Never gave a figure or said 30 to 40, and it was just a thought on the subject. Was actually just trying to help out

Wood has no "fake killer", it just won't load properly.

It's not just some C models, earlier ones like 6/7 can't update either.

I have never heard of a fake R4ids.cn card.

If it has R4 in the name, there a high chance its a "fake" card. While back in 2007 they were the leading cheap and reliable card, now a days they are clones of clones and dont work well. SOME are certainly legit "R4" carts, but lots of them are not reliable.

I bought 3 x R4i Gold 3DS cards (www.r4ids.cn) at the end of November as christmas presents (to replace DSTT cards) - all 3 were Rev C PCB's, had the Metroid icon and won't update. I bought another after christmas for a friend (with a DS) and it is Rev C with the "Konami" icon.

As the R4i Gold 3DS card is relatively cheap and *any* card is only an "update away" from being blocked on the 3DS I'm not supprised by events - of course it would be great if www.r4ids.cn update the "Metriod" cards as I would again feel confident recomending the cheaper R4i to friends.

Same here, Metroid and can't update. A big FU to zhuzhuchina who sold me the card in about Christmas and I have yet to be able to use it.
