Hacking homebrew channel work on 4.0

ok i just installed the homebrew channel on my virgin 4.0 wii

i opened up the homebrew channel
and i just get i blue background with bubbles and nothing pops up.

what do i do next?
what do i install
so i can wacth dvds,play backup games etc


please help

I would recommend you THIS one, it's the easiest solution for finding Applications. For the Hacking (Backups & Co), just search around here...there are plenty of possibilities, too much to write them all down...

And if you realy want to watch DVDs (although it's kinda crap, one of ten dvds worked for me), I would also look here...watching DVDs won't work with 4.0 (at least I think so), you'll need to downgrade to 3.2 and then install that feature...

Oh, and next time, search, or post in the Noobs-Thread...please...

so i add a folder to my sd card name it apps
and download an app and place it in the apps folder?
then i open up homebrew channel?

you put every application in its own subfolder in \apps\
every application needs at least a file called boot.dol in that folder, that's the main executable file.
most applications also come with a meta.xml and an icon file so it looks nicer in the homebrew channel menu.
