Well, you use the search feature. Make sure you have everything set up correctly on your SD Card... apps folder on the root. Contents in the apps folder.

    Here are some good Links:

    Apps
    How-To
    Hacking-Things

I would recommend you THIS one, it's the easiest solution for finding Applications. For the Hacking (Backups & Co), just search around here...there are plenty of possibilities, too much to write them all down...

And if you realy want to watch DVDs (although it's kinda crap, one of ten dvds worked for me), I would also look here...watching DVDs won't work with 4.0 (at least I think so), you'll need to downgrade to 3.2 and then install that feature...

Oh, and next time, search, or post in the Noobs-Thread...please...

you put applications in the \apps\ folder on sd. Every application goes in its own folder
I suggest you put this application on your card
    http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Browser
It will download other software for you and put in on sd.

you put every application in its own subfolder in \apps\
every application needs at least a file called boot.dol in that folder, that's the main executable file.
most applications also come with a meta.xml and an icon file so it looks nicer in the homebrew channel menu.
