So I got on Splatoon using HIDtoVPAD with my Dualshock 3, and I noticed that I was going extremely fast when I walked diagonally forward. This never happens with the gamepad. So....what happened?

It might have to do with analog stick deadzones or calibration or something like that. Make sure you're not touching the sticks when connecting your DS3. You can also play with some numbers in the DS3's controller config.
