Wow its so long. So this coldboot is for lazy people look likes. If i run wiiu and launch haxchi it would be faster on my impression?
It will likely be a little shorter. IOSUHAX takes a while to boot in gerenal and this has to boot twice.
It will be quicker once simple sig patcher coldboot comes out.

Coldboothax and Haxchi are unrelated to this double booting. That's a problem in iosuhax and cfw_booter. This will be fixed when iosuhax/cfw_booter or signpatcher get fixed.

Any way coldboot signpatcher should be quicker and it is already available somewhere in the middle of dimok's thread.

I know that. I was just saying why it took forever to boot.
Replied to the wrong person XD

Hey everyone,

I've written something new. It's a full featured iosuhax cfw like thing with wupserver, /dev/iosuhax node, all the signature check patches and a full os reload which makes it a clean firmware again. The difference is, it does not require any fw.img on your SD card or else where. All the nice stuff is inside the ELF file and I can perfectly share it with everyone. The custom firmware is equal to the "make cfw" build on my iosuhax fork regarding the features. It even reloads itself like iosuhax when you enter settings and leave them again from memory (ELF file is only required on first launch). You are not loosing the patches or anything.

So here are some PoC builds that you guys can try out (and maybe report if you find something out of ordinary):
version with splash screen:
http://www99.zippyshare.com/v/Gr7qDsDA/file.html

version with splash for coldbooter:
http://www84.zippyshare.com/v/rWrDiPTf/file.html

and a small version without splash to show how small it can be (90% of the size is the splash screen):
http://www43.zippyshare.com/v/Q0pDbp60/file.html

I will also make a redNAND version later but its not done yet.

I am thinking of giving this thing a new name as it is not very alike to iosuhax as it was before. It is quite different. Though parts of iosuhax are also big part of it, like the wupserver. So I think it should be a name that reminds one of iosuhax or parts of it. We though of many funny names with @dibas, @Maschell, @Cyan and @pwsincd (like iosuramhax, yail (yet another iosuhax loader) or even NaCl) but nothing that we all agreed on. If you think of something nice, let me know.

Sources and stuff will come later. I need to clean it up a bit more and make it more dev friendly :P.

Does anyone know how do you take the iosuhax splash screen out of dimoks cold boot build when you build the fw.img? I have deleted the .tga files but its still there on boot up.

change wupserver code and comment out the splashscreen function. Then make clean, make.

Yep. Not sure why people are cold booting to iosuhax (unless you need the wup server). There are two simple sign patches available, one that boots very quickly without WUP and one (yet to be named) which also has WUP. The boot times are much faster as they are just .elf files. I would have thought you guys would be cold booting to sign patcher because its quicker and gives mostly the same functionality?

Also, lets not forget FIX94 is working on his own cold boot. Booting time so far he reported as 45 secs but he'll probably get it down :)

My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol

Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.

@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
