hey guys,
i emailed swataniz a few months back about a program i found that can decode the HWAS files and here's what i got:
I haven't worked on this project for over 7 months... so I dont remember much, although I still have the website up.
Im guessing thats how you got my email. Anyways I am still interested in getting it to work..... making the songs still might be a challenge if Frets On Fire doesnt work. I have made a song on FOF only using 4 buttons, but Im not sure if it will work. What we really need is to get a .GOB compiler, having that will help alot! lol I'll have to refresh my memory about this whole project and its progress. I don think I have any of the files, but there all on the site so thats helpfull. I'll try to get someone that will make a >GOB compiler, but its a hard task to find someone that can, I have had 2 people try and one didnt know how and that other just stopped talking to me.... odd, I think im still going to have to refresh my memory on the files and how they work, hahah. Im still in school to (gr12) and I have a job and I am training for a 20km bike race.... you could say that im busy also, hahhahaha. I did not even attempt to look at GH Decades, so I dont know anything about it. So ill try yo fix the links on the website and look at my tutorial again. lol Thanks for sharing an interest in helping
(note that there was about 6 emails over all)
im not sure how much he will still want to work on making customs
so far using the programs already made it is possible to use the chart from GHOT in FOF
i tried today with decades however the chart is completely different,
until modern hits comes out we will have to find a GOB compiler
however if modern hits dosen't use a GOB and uses the same chart type as GHOT then things will be easier
until then i have good news and bad news
as i said before i found a program that can decode the HWAS files
however it's only a demo that allows a max of 5 seconds of decoded sound
the program is called vox studio 3 by xentec the codec is the bicom ADPCM codec at 20000Hz
i have not yet found another program that has this codec
the other problem is that bicom as i telecommunications company
so the HWAS file is the same as a recording of a phone conversation hence vox studio being a telecommunication recorder
i dont think it will be possible to decode the file with a phone
i have looked and looked for cracks but there are none
im stuck at a dead end now
anyone know anything else?
