If people have a R4I or R4 from r4i-sdhc.com , this guide won't work (as stated in the original post) because it is actually a DSTT clone.. BUT to get it to work, all you gotta do it download DLDIrc and then lock/unlock (disable auto dldi patching) on a FRESH NEW ysmenu.nds file (don't dldi patch it because it comes with the DSTT DLDI file)

Also.. to get soft reset to work (soft reset back to ysmenu), create a copy of ysmenu.nds and rename it ttmenu.dat
(ysmenu is based on the dstt firmware so it will soft reset to whatever is named ttmenu.dat)

Hello I tried this guide using this version of the DSTT firmware and it just stays on the "Loading..." screen.

I'm using an R4 SDHC. Does YSMenu still not work with R4 SDHC?

This is a pic of what's currently on my SD card. Any help?

You seem to be the 4th person with this issue that I've seen. None of them have been resolved.... I'm going to have to add R4 SDHC to the list of clones not working.

first of all i would like to thank the author of this great guide. it help me alot since i was running on the old official R4 firmware.

secondly, i followed the guide step by step and nothing is wrong with playing games i just have a few questions about weird files in my card that your guide didnt have.

your guide has about 6 files in the root of the sd card, i have about 18 files, files i have never ever seen before in my life. LOL!! and that not including the ttmenu file and whats in it just at the root of the card.

thirdly, when upon starting up my card it boots straight to rom files i dont see no gui or whatever u call it. (u know the one with the 3 icons at the bottom screen)

but all in all im thankful for ur guide cuz i still play my games without any problems.

umm probably it's a noob question (or it has already been asked but i'm not having any luck, as usual, finding it)
do you think a cycloDS/Acekard firmware would work on an r4 original? lol yea i know, i should buy a new one

and if you think about it, i'm asking this only for Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story, since there's a cheat code to bypass that saying it works for cyclods and acekard

thanks in advance for answers

I'm not sure if there's a reason for it (didn't read the whole topic, sorry), but wouldn't it be easier if someone uploaded the files already patched and we just copy them to our microSD?

I've been using my r4 for awhile off and on. To my dismay, I found out just recently that they stopped doing firmware updates. I didn't really want to buy a new flashcart...at least not yet. I've never been able to successfully follow an installation guide with this many steps before. But, I just had to say that this was easily one of the best guides that I've ever used. I had to register just so that I could say thanks to Triassic911 for making something good enough a noob like me could use. Thanks.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
