Hacking gateway emunand 9.4 update to higher firmware

I am wondering what happens if emunand, now on 9.4 gets an update from nintendo to lets say 9.5.
Or is that not possible??
Is there a risk involved? Couldn't find the answer here...

We'll have to wait for Gateway to put out another update to patch it, usually each update Nintendo puts out breaks emuNAND.

Yes. It has been possible since 2.7.
