Might have been already mentioned but:
Sky3DS may not be as F*CKED as we think.
Nintendo will most likely patch this kernel exploit. And if Sky3DS does turn out to be 1:1 copy of a retail game, then it should be unblockable.
Thus, if you have a 9.3 or higher 3DS/N3DS, and you don't want to buy a 4.5 or a 9.2 3DS, then Sky3DS could have some value if they remove the 10 game limit.
The Best 3ds Flashcard is..... Gateway 3ds!! :D

Its awesome. Eagerly waiting for the update so that Gateway can run on 9.xx firmware.

Also, a quick question, if someone could help me. The question is that:- "Will this work on 9.2.0-20U ? Just curious to know. Thanks in advance for answering. :)
Yep, you're fine.
U is just the region, in this case U.S.
Mine is 9.2.0-20E, which matches the flag shown under my Avatar.
Make sure to turn off spotpass and wifi!

They will probably wait till Europe Release of the new3DS since BigN would have certainly patched it by then.

Kinda a daft way to think, if you think living in the US avoids taxes on imports. Every country has to pay import taxes depending on the value of the shipment and weight and there are ways around it. yet thinking cos you live there, you don't have to pay is silly

Not really. After researching it video game stuff are even exempt from the $200 import duty but I guess I'll find out when I get the package in the mail :)

I live in Germany. Always have, always will. Our Economy is boooooming.
First of all, If the reasoning behind choosing U.S. as a country rather than Germany was privacy, you just failed.
Secondly, only a small percentage of Europe has that good of an economy. A quick Google search can prove that.
Thirdly, European 3DSes have a very high chance of being manufactured as we speak, or even come from the same factories as the Australian ones. Proven by the fact they share the same region coding and also this:
AUS is EUR, at least the same Region for Nintendo^^

Funny thing is, under the bottom cover it has "Frankfurt" (German Town) listed :)

First start it even asks to import Data from another 3DS System
Page 8 post 143#
That may mean that Nintendo is preparing N3DSes for Europe right now rather than later, so that means when they launch in Europe they come shipped with 8.0.0E~9.2.0-20E

Firstly: i dont Care about an Option I just picked randomly when registering here.
Secondly there is a high Chance that european n3DS will come with a patched 9.X when they come out in 70 days. Enough time to fix them.

EUR Consoles will most likely ship with 9.x. Thats what I'd assume based AUS N3DS.

Can't wait for it to come to actual EUR stores. I'm just worried about the price tho' .. I predict a 170€ for the regular one and 200€ for the XL ... *sigh* .. Damn you Portucalé!

Do you have evidence that supports that claim?
My evidence supporting that conclusion is the post above yours.

I'm not sure about eShop, Australia might have a server near them or use the one in Japan and such.
But retail games bought from your local European store will work.
(Side note, get a Japanese N3DS since Gateway supports region-free, plus JN3DS is cheaper than Australian.)

i was always hoping for the supercard team to come back, but...
damn, this is just awesome and looks nearly perfect. i hope there will be a cheat tool / plugin (i need to finish devil survivor :D)
good thing, that i missed my chance to get ninja cubic (and 40eur were too expansive for this)

but i think i will wait until the update has a release date. i don´t want to give them a reason, that they can lay back and chill just yet ^^
i think the AUS 3ds is multi lang (including german), or? so it should be the same like the one we will get in europe (just with a newer fw version maybe).. i´m really tempted to get one :D

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
