So I was planning on giving my kid my main switch for christmas since him and his brother fight over theirs, and I have had this hacked switch that barely gets used.

I was going to restore my saves to and try and check they work, but it turns out the game card slot doesn't work because of NoGC. I couldn't find the INI file they are saying to modify to disable NoGC, so I decided to restore my backup.

Well, I am on hekate 5.6.5, 13.0.1 firmware, and I think my backup was made at 11.0.1, however my fuses wont let me go back past 12.0.1?

Whenever I try to reboot to stock, I get the message

"pkg2 decryption failed pkg1/pkg2 mismatch or old hekate, failed to boot hos"

Not sure where to go from here as far as restoreing my sysnand.

If you burned your fuses then you can time travel back anymore.

First make a backup of your SD card and install the latest Atmosphere/Hekate release.
Try to see if you can boot into CFW.
Maybe it is just an old version of Hekate causing the problem.
If not, just go back to 13.0.1 with Daybreak again.
Then your fuse count should match the firmware and OFW should boot without ay problems.

Custom Firmware works fine. I can boot into atmosphere through Fusee, and Hekate just fine, this is on my Emunand.

I updated my sysnand with a backup from my emu nand, and it boots through hekate, to 11.0.1 and to 13.0.1 But it will not boot by itself. Am going to see if I can get the emunand to play carts before I do anything else to sysnand, now that I finally found out that atmosphere uses a different ini now.

Thank you for letting know the correct ini these days, all the posts I could find where referring to an outdated ini file that is no longer used. Thus the reason I could not find it.

after you change the Stratosphere.ini to have nogc=0, do you need to update firmware again?

My cartridge slot is still not working.

What firmware version are you running now? If you are on 11.0.0 but have previously been on 13.1.0 then the gamecart slot firmware has been updated and will no longer work on 11.x and below.

Im back on 13.1.0.

Fixed the brick issue. Just need to make the cart slot work again. I am on 13.1.0 on EMU and Sysnand. Emu nand is on the latest Atmosphere. Tried booting with hekate and fusee.

Just can't get my damn cart slot to work. At this point it looks like Im just gonna bite the bullet and pay the 100$ premium to get oled switch and keep using this one play backups and dump saves and such.

So I fixed it finally.

If anyone else is having this problem, and you already disabled nogc through hekate, then put the stratosphere.ini with nogc=0 in the atmosphere/configs folder, you need to launch hekate, then turn NOGC ON, lauch CFW, launch the homebrew menu, launch "boot to payload" which will bring hekate back up, then turn auto NOGC off again.

TLDR;
Turn Autongc in hekate ON. Launch CFW. Reboot to payload (hekate). Turn Auto NOGC OFF again.

Card slot quit working again.

I really cannot comprehend why this bug was added to atmosphere when so many people seem to have issue with re-enabling their card slot and having it stick. It seems, that it would have been a better idea for anyone needing to stay on pre 9.0 firmware to need to enable nogc, instead of it being on default, and disabling the card slot, even outside of cfw.

The stratosphere ini is in the configs folder, contains nogc=0 and hekate has nogc turned off.

Got the card slot to work, once, and the next time I rebooted, it quit again.

What role does hekate play, when one boots atmo (via fusee.bin)?
Is it making any difference at all?

I've tried both fusee, and hekate. And no, no difference.

At this point, I am considering backing up the SD, formatting it, and going through a fresh setup of atmosphere.

as a last resort, just wait for a new ofw to come out, and boot to stock ofw and update normally. then rcm mode into cfw again, tegraexplorer and dump your sys fw, then boot daybreak on emunand and install fw. that way all nands will have updated gamecard fw. fyi, always update in stock ofw to prevent this from happening

Yeah, I wish the 2 guides I read, or the readme on github for atmo had mentioned this crap.

its whatever, the console ended up getting banned during all of this so unless it was a temp ban I dont even care now, I bought a oled switch for main console. So, I will continue testing games to see if they are worth purchase, and hacking games on this one.

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)
