who the hell has 300 games installed there aren't even that many GOOD games worth playing on the wii!
Fragmentation is a real problem on FAT, especially with bigger files. This one of the reasons that NTFS exists. (NTFS still has fragmentation, but a lot less than FAT)Maikel Steneker said:When using files this big and with the modern random access times, I don't see that becoming a huge problem, especially since you can now just copy the files to your computer, reformat your drive and copy them back on.elfsander said:Fat is an bad idea. Why? Fragmentation.
This is an interesting developement, but I'd prefer Ext2/3/4. And how am I supposed to use this in Linux? I don't have any real problems with WBFS, so unless there's a similar Linux application I won't be using this.

Wiiwu said:Change! - Give CFG-USB-Loader a try! Its not a bad loader after all, in fact it is a pretty nice fully featured loader comparable to any out there.
Wiiwu said:There is no need to wait for other loaders. Why wait and risk your games on a WBFS partition? When you won't know if the next time you install to or delete a game from a WBFS partition will be your last.
Configurable USB-Loader has already shown that they are serious pioneering developers giving us now a solution, a way to go back to saving our games safely on FAT drives, and more choices in how we can manage them. We are now free to use any Windows file manager, defragmentation, repair, partitioning, backup tools out there.

People should really go get the facts and then apply a little logic before dismissing this development offhand.BBking83 said:http://wbfsmanager.codeplex.com/
WBFS Manager works fine.
I know the point of this is to not have any managers but if the HDD sits next to your Wii most of the time, you have to transfer the file to it by connecting it to your PC anyway. Makes no difference, still need to transfer it.
dude ive tried just about every backup launcher and usb loader there is, and some modchips.Wiiwu said:Change! - Give CFG-USB-Loader a try! Its not a bad loader after all, in fact it is a pretty nice fully featured loader comparable to any out there.

Understand me, I'd love to play Metroid Prime Trilogy decently.
I'm confused by this. First you appear to state that the image files can't be used to get 100% 1:1 copies back, then you ask if it works?WiiPower said:Ok, it's better, but then the game images are in a proprietary file format. To me there's not that much difference between special file system and regular file system but special file format. As if FAT32 was that much better...
Is it proprietary? No. Does it only work with a limited set of tools and apps? No. Does that make it 'much better'? That's a matter of opinion. Thanks for sharing yours. There's no doubt that you're a talented coder, so what would or have you done instead?

There's an option to rip 1:1, but does it work with .iso files? Do the 2 .iso files from: .iso -> .wbfs(1:1 copy) -> .iso match 100%?
From the readme.txt included with the source..xflak40 said:i'm considering making the change from usbloader gx to configurable usb loader; but can some1 tell me if configurable usb loader is able to rip wii games to a FAT32 partition? I like how usbloader gx can do this, but it can only transfer games to a wbfs drive.
