Greetings, all.

I've been struggling for a while to get WiiFlow to run games and at this point I don't know where the issue could be. I've tried following countless tutorials, even doing a SysCheck and running it through ModMii. A friend of mine has successfully been able to run the .wbfs files that I'm trying out, so I don't think that those are the issue. I can't post links on account of this account being new, but the problem I get is exactly the same as the one in the video Play Wii Games from SD Card in 2021 - Wii Soft Modding - Install Homebrew - d2x cIOs - WiiFlow by Retro Nerd at around 12:42, and despite following the tutorial I could not solve it. The files are correctly located in a folder named wbfs at the root of my SD, and I've made sure to format it to FAT32 (and in fact most other apps installed on my SD are working fine).

Here are the SysCheck results before and after following the ModMii procedure:

Thanks very much in advance for anybody who is able to help me solve it
P.S: The main tutorials that I followed were Ultimate USB Loader GX Guide 2021+ (Play ISO Backups) by AntonRetro and How to Play Downloaded Wii Games from SD Card! [Wii & Wiiu] (WiiFlow Tutorial 2023) by FunkyScott47, in case it is of any help to know. I tried to get GX working first but WiiFlow is better due to my USB drive not working correctly.

its not the latest, but have you tried setting the IOS of the game to a specifice IOS such as 249 or 250. not auto.
I haven't because the one tutorial I found where they did that led to the program crashing any time it would open so they had to delete the save data manually, it was kind of intimidating, not going to lie (in case you wonder, it's the tutorial by Retro Nerd at around 13:48)

im not talking about the startup settings IOS. I'm talking about the game settings IOS. select the game and then click the gear icon to access its settings. in 5.5.4 the 'auto' option doesn't always work so you have to set a specific IOS like 249 or 250. or update to v5.5.4-1 and get rid of these 3 cios:

IOS245[37] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS246[38] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access
IOS247[53] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

So, thing is, when I check the files we were prompted to install by ModMii, none of them correspond to 245, 246, or 247. ModMii recommended installing some STUBS but we never did. Should I install those STUBs? There seem to be STUBs named STUB-IOS245-64-v404.wad, IOS246-64-v404.wad, and IOS247-64-v404.wad. And if not. How would I go about "getting rid of" whatever is in those locations? I have d2x-cios-installer and YAWM, in case that is relevant

either install the stubs or i thought the wad installer or d2x installer had a uninstall/delete option.
we tried installing all the STUBs but it changed nothing. Sadly we only know how to uninstall files that we installed, not just flat out delete the contents of any given location. Is that good enough or you meant somehow wiping all the stuff in those locations?

did you try changing the games ios from auto to a specific ios like 249 or 250?
I did indeed, back when you told me before installing the STUBs, and it crashed with 249, 250, and 251. I also ran a SysCheck after installing the STUBs so you can take a gander

are you using a emunand for gamesaves?

open wiiflow_lite.ini in a notepad tool and under [DEBUG] set write_sd_log= to yes and save and run wiiflow and try a game. afterwards you should have wiiflow.log on the root of your sd card. copy and paste it here for me to see.

sadly I can't check it right now, I'll post an update as soon as possible. I honestly do not know what an emunand even is, though, so I'm hopeful that file helps clear it all up once I get it

thanks for the log. don't forget to set write_sd_log= back to no.

nothing wrong with the log. so the next thing to check is the wiiflow/bins folder. do you have the 3 bin files. and do you think they were updated when you updated the boot.dol?

I updated by dragging both the folders in the zip of the newest version into the root of the SD and letting files be overwritten. When I open that folder I see three bins named app_booter.bin, ext_booter.bin, and ext_loader.bin. Files also seem to've updated two days ago, which probably means they surely updated when we upgraded to 5.5.4-1

have you tried your game on SD:/wbfs by using usblgx?
I tried USB Loader GX before but couldn't get it to read games off of my SD. I just checked a tutorial online that said to select "Select title sources" and tick "Wii Games". When my friend does that it actually works for him, but for me it gives the error "USB Device not initialized. Switching to channel list mode". I am not prompted to switch to SD Mode, and I do in fact not have a USB of any kind plugged in. What should I do? I've read about toggling off "Mount USB at launch", should I do this? If it doesn't work, what else do you suggest?

i haven't use the sd mode of usb loader gx. but i assumed you just went into settings and somewhere was an option for sd mode.

if your games don't work with usblgx then my speculation is correct. there is something wrong with your games .wbfs files in the wbfs folder.
