Gaming FFIV DS (U) Anticipation Thread

Hey guys i am no fan of the FF series but still i am looking forward to this even thought i tried FF3 but didn't like it ...

u know in the starting how u are in the dungeon and monster kept coming every 2 steps so that pissed me off...Does it get any better after that part???? if yes than i might give it another try..

are the graphics good?

I would say the graphics in the FF4 screenies do look a bit better than FF3. And continue FF3, it gets better.

I gave up on FFIII because it said "Minimize yourselve so you can be killed in battle!"

I was like FUCK THAT and I stopped playing.

I'm nice and hooked on the waiting here. Found a bunch of wallpapers on the official Japanese site here. Very nicely done character art and easy to navigate since it's heavily English. Kinda sad not to see anything that awesome on the US site, but not in the least surprised.

I was, however, inspired enough to turn the North American FF4ds splash screen into a decent wallpaper and thought I'd share while we wait.

Awesome image, but I was a little disappointed that Cecil had the most defined ass out of the lot.

im currently playing through FFIII, didnt think much of it at first i found the story lacking and the fights boring, the random battles that happen when you attempt to move 3 inches take long and cost you 10 health potions each time really get on your nerves.

its starting to pick up and getting better so im glad i stuck with it, but im not sure how much better it gets. i will probably stop FFIII when IV is out (since stories aren't connected i can finish it another time). FFIV sounds much better than FFIII.

Go take a look at the NA site. It's very pretty AND animated. The waterfalls move, the moonlight sparkles. Good times to be had by all.

the FF3 shrink yourself part failed >_>, i had to backtrack to earlier towns to buy spells, turned all of my members into black mages, and had me a good ol spam fest until i finally won >_>.

Edit: I forgot to mention the other game that was released for phones, called Before Crisis: FFVII, which is ANOTHER prequel to a VERY deep and intriguing story line ^^ I personally love FFVIII, and FFVII ^^ Love the GFs and the Materia, respectively.

Yes FFVII is way overrated and fanboys are the reason people think it is the "BEST FF GAME EVAR". I'm not saying it's bad, but I think FF6 and FF4 were better, but thats just me. Also, FF7 really introduced Teenage RPG character to a new level. the ohter game that did this was CT.

Am I to believe there are new FMV cutscenes that talk? I back in the day remeber naming myself as the main character (Cecil), my best friend as Kain, and my girlfriend at the time after the princess. So when Kain does what he does....oh boy did me and my best friend at the time have a good chuckle. Anyway with the new cut scenes and talking I suppose nameing the characters is either no longer an option or b) a bad idea as my name would be Weapon only to be said as Cecil in the cut scenes? Or is the trailer over hyping the game and there are no cut scenes?
