I'm going to get one to go with my Acekard 2i, but I'm rather unsure how it works.

1) Do I just boot games right off my Acekard as I would a NDS game?
2) Do I need to worry about Acekard software updates ruining compatibility?
3) Are there any known issues/major games with incompatibility issues?

also, a bit unrelated but:

4) Are there any other devices that will allow me to play SNES games off my NDS Lite?

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. The only issue that I can think of involves Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald. The 3in1 doesn't have a RTC so RTC based events won't occur(such as berries growing). There is a patch for Ruby, Sapphire that fixes this(kind of) but not for Emerald.
4. There is a an emulator for the Acekard 2i(it's also compatible with other flashcarts):SNEmulDS. It isn't very good due to the fact that the DS isn't very powerful(but I've heard that if you have a 3in1 in your DS when you run it it will use the 3in1 to improve emulation). The Supercard DSTWO has it's own emaulator(and it's far better since the DSTWO has it's own CPU, RAM).

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
