Does it do it with normal game carts?

Are you sure it hadn't just ran out of battery? How many times has this happened?

It could be a possible contact issue.
    Try something like this.

He said "the DS turns off"
    Not "the DS freezes"

I know what he said. I think I've heard around in some discussions that bad contacts can cause the DS to switch off like this.
It was a symptom of my old M3i Zero, both of them. Never tried the paper trick on that though since I gave them away in no time.

Uhh... My DSi XL stays cool after an hour of gameplay (playing it on desk). Not sure this hotness is normal.

I'd send it to Nintendo. It could be a bad battery problem, and not the fault of your cart.

Although you may want a new cart. Who knows what it's doing. [IMG]

Yes. Nintendo.com - Call them, and they'll send you new batteries.

    Dude don't double/triple post.

The SD card was shutting your DSi XL off? That doesn't sound right... nor should it happen. I have a SD card in mine, and it doesn't shut off.

And the heat, that's normal. Depending on how hot. I play mine for a couple hours at a time, and the back is usually warm. But SD card shutting off your DSi XL? Might want to get that looked at...

No I know what you mean. I have an SD card in mine, doesn't turn off. I can't see how that dent in the SD card could do something...

But oh well, if you got the problem fixed.
