Hacking DarkWii Extended 1.0 (fixed) for 4.1E

for anyone wondering, I followed the steps I posted and it worked like a charm with 4.1E and waninkoko's menu patcher 1.2

(of course I stopped nus downloader as soon as the 00000001.app and 0000007e.app files were finished because I am right now with 5kbps speed

)

The first theme displayed to my Wii. Hooray.

Place a key.bin file in the same directory as the executable, check the decrypt option, and it should appear. Naming in v1.2 goes by content name, not index, so you might have to rename it.

0000007b.app would be your 0000001.app.

The 'Back' button in the Wii Settings menu doesn't match the rest of the back buttons. The text "Back' isn't white like the rest of the Back buttons. It's also not as shiney.

"wii settings" images and style sheets are from the iplsettings.ash which are gif file as opposed to the other .ash file that contain .tpl images. I played with this button a lot just to get it bearable looking, ive even replaced all the gifs with pngs for better quality.

Check the original wii settings and you will see they are different buttons also, if you can make a nicer button for iplsettings.ash please do so i would be happy to use an improved version myself

I got as far as unpacking the board.ash and health.ash files. How do I go about editting/viewing the TPL image files and saving new ones? Tried Google and can't seem to find a way to open them.

Got as far as extracting them with TPLX. How do I go about packing everything back up once replacing one of the TGA texture files?

ok, i finally got around to looking at the Icon_Index_Page and think its better now. These are the little icons that show the 'page selected' 1 2 or 3 when in the wii settings menu, they used to be to bright to see selected page number properly. I really wish i could get the 'BACK' button nicer but haven't been able too yet, so if anyone managed a nicer looking one please share it.

Here are the updated Icon_Index_Page icons to use in the iplsettings.ash if anyone wants to add them to the 'sharable release' since my versions are just .app i cant link straight to them.

I do all of this and I end up getting a 00007e.app instead 000007b.app
I know I am doing it right. I put 0000000100000002 and then 449 and I do click the decrypt box. Why do I end up with a 7e file?

Obviously updating to 4.2 (officially or with Wanin's updater) will wipe this theme from your system. Will we see a update to this for those of us on 4.2 now?
