After being on the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and PC, NIS America is bringing Danganronpa to the Nintendo Switch. Launching later this year, in both separate digital form or as one big physical collection, Danganronpa Decadence will pack together Danganronpa 1: Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Anniversary Edition, and Danganronpa V3, along with an expanded form of the minigame from the most recent game, which is called Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp.
for the same reason I prefer kicking back on a couch for gaming over sitting at a desk. I like being able to just hold a controller and play where as a mouse and keyboard are more cumbersome
I was joking about your opinion being invalid, but in my humble opinion that you can disagree with DR2 is the worst one by FAR. It's got lots of bad characters and bad writing.
My bad. Got it wrong! But to be fair, I really enjoyed the game specially the part where Nagito starts to take protagonism and starts to understand everything. Also...
I really loved Chiaki. Even knowing she started to get protagonism at the very end and had little real participation.
Every danganronpa has horrible characters. From the first game, Leon and the protagonist's friend for example. But in my opinion, the worst cast overall is in V3, specially Tsumugi_Shirogane. Holy, she was horrible the whole game.
WARNING: HEAVY SPOILERS OF DANGANRONPA V3 ENDING.
Acting fully passive the whole game until the end where the game needed a resolution, and because of the plot, the only real character that could be bad is her.
Ya. but when I tried on pc the controller support was kinda janky. maybe it was something about my set up in particular but non the less. I missed so much text because it double registered my inputs that it just wasn't worth playing in a game where dialog is very important
Were you using a DS4 controller? (PS4 controller) I think the games (even when pirated) have controller support that made the DS4 controller work natively without the need of DS4Windows. I used a DS4 controller, but (if i recall correctly, never used it with DS4 for Danganronpa games) in The Witcher 3 for example, when using DS4 with DS4Windows happened exactly what you're saying.
Anyways, the only reason you should use a controller is because of the wireless option, for commodity. If that's not the case, a keyboard probably would be better.
Probably not a particular reason. But for example, in danganronpa games, the camera and the sight move slooooooow with a controller. It can be tedious sometimes. I completed everything with a controller though. xD
The first one is really good. That's the only one I particularly like.
I think the real question is what actual canon aspects we can take from the game. Whether you believe everything is fictional or not. I'm gonna say Danganronpa 1 and 2 settings were real because we know the first game takes place shortly after the tragedy and we know that the cast of DR2 was present and real before the tragedy (as wekk as the DR1 cast). Frankly, after that I don't really care because of the BS V3 brought. I can't stand half assed open to interpretation "it's not real, or is it?" crap as an ending or major plot detail. Flesh your writing out and have an actual canon with established events, stuff like character motives are fine when ambigous, but not major story details. I really think they phoned it in because they didn't want to make more games or they're butthurt that the Danganronpa 3 anime was a good way to follow up the first two entries so any more games wouldn't be as interesting.
You should really spoiler tag your whole post. xD You're explaining the whole little canon plot the game has. And is because of exactly this reason, I think that the V3 shouldn't be canon. What a disgusting way of ending everything.
Sorry for this, but the post went off-topic. I am sorry! It's good to know the games are coming to Switch.

I don't like Chiaki mostly because she just feels like gamer girl and nothing else. She has no personality whatsoever outside of "sleepy", "kind" and "gamer". She just feels like waifubait to me, and in my opinion she's one of the major reasons case 5 isn't top tier, the murder itself is the best in the series but they try to make me care for a character that is barely a character, apparently people like her because of DR3 but I haven't watched that, but in DR2 she just feels like a non-character.
V3 at 20 fps... as long as it doesn't have input delay I guess... (derivative of android port? only time will tell...)
The fact that they went up and literally just neglected every single installment of the series that isn't strictly a "Danganronpa videogame" (UDG has more relevance to the plot than Danganronpa 3 in its entirety, but "spinoff") really dropped my interest on any future installments of the series, let alone the fact that V3 just ends horribly (moreso after respecting the buildup that the other games have which is amazing). About DRS, I do not approve, but if I had to tell it makes a lot of sense, albeit it being just a mashup of everything that V3 tries to represent. Mainly a cashgrab, but might be entertaining so it gets a pass (out of the 70 hours I have in V3 PC, 40 maybe even more are from the Despair Dungeon/Slot Cards/Board Game minigame cycle, extremely addictive)
I agree with the majority of your post, but especially this part.
DR2 is the clear standout game in the franchise, and you need 1 to fully appreciate why 2 is as well done as it is. 1 isn't a bad game either, in fact I think I prefer it's overall tone compared to all the others (it's just held back by the cast imo), but yeah, I like both a lot.
V3 has some of the weakest cast, as a whole, I think. I'm so mixed on it. Characters like Miu and Kokichi and Saihara are memorable and stand out but honestly, I dislike the cast for their interactions between each other. Kaito is a walking neon sign of the games themes, and for every good character V3 has, it also has some of the worst ones. Ahem, Angie. A lot about about V3 feels too blatant, too obnoxiously heavy handed, though I do like cases 1 and 5 a whole lot. The ending was pretty good, too. I'm conflicted. I liked it a lot initially but having gone through it again, I found more faults than I recalled. Still...I can't help but still like it.
Either way, this is a great collection and I'm really happy for more people to get to play this series.

I didn't play past metroid titles so I can't comment on that, so It might be good.
Mario party is... mario party.
Don't hate me but I don't like the zelda franchise
one, how would you even move around? two, that would require akwardly shuffling the mouse along my leg of the side of the couch or something to move the cursor...how the fuck is that easier?
I think that case 1 could have been one of the best cases in the overall series if it wasn't because of these two reasons:
1. At the end of this same case, when is resolved, what I couldn't stop thinking was that the writers of the game were insulting the comprehension of the spectator (or in this case, the player), because of how it is resolved and because it was (technically speaking) impossible that really happened. I don't want to spoiler this part, but the way things are presented, makes it impossible everything that happened. Again, this opinion is based prior case 6. I know the main character needed to be presented EpIcLy, but still... I really don't liked it. Perhaps is because of how the other Danganronpa resolved each case, I don't know.
2. Spoiler.
I forgot to add, this is opinion is based after case 6.
In every Danganronpa game, each character (even the main antagonist) are forced to follow a series of rules and punishments if any of them didn't follow the rules. This is specially true in the first game, at the very end, which the antagonist was forced to follow its own rules, and did it without hesitation. Instead, it liked it. Really loved that part, to be honest.
But, but, but... In V3 this doesn't happen. The antagonist was allowed to "cheat" without being punished AND punishing a third one because of his cheat. Why? I really thought that it was a disgusting move by the writers, because they forced the player over all the games and anime to understand that in the game, everybody was supposed to be equal in rights and obligations).
And, the worst part is, even if its not related to these two points at all, is that the antagonist in V3 is really boring. Really, really boring. If it didn't exist, the game probably could have been exactly the same. xD

I am not sure of the other games, but at least in the first one, in PC, if I recall correctly, you could use the wheel of the mouse to move. Since the game is first-person, moving the wheel up, makes the character move forward, and moving the wheel down, makes the character move backwards. And the camera, with the mouse movement itself.
Even if it's not common to not have a keyboard on a PC, I think it was a pretty nice move by the devs to make it possible to play the game with only the mouse.

, Reason: Corrected a little detail. It's not case 5, but case 6.
