Gaming Connecting to Xbox Live via Proxy

I used network sharing with my Macbook Pro (Called Bridging in Windows) in order to connect my Xbox 360 to my WiFi connection via an ethernet connection from my Macbook which is connected to the WiFi Signal.

Now I'm trying to share the network with a proxy in order to be able to redeem my codes that Microsoft won't allow because my country is not supported.

Can someone help me, please?

1 - Google for proxy servers. An ACTUAL PROXY SERVER, not this "proxy site" or "proxy program" bullshit. You should end up with an IP address, and a port number.

2 - Go to your network connection settings in OSX, and put in that IP and port for the proxy setting.

Then your connection will use that proxy globally until you unset it.

You may have to try a bunch of proxies, though.

I tried that with a Proxy I found in Google, but it doesn't work.
It does work on Safari and it is recognized as from the US.

Does the HTTP Proxy need to be from the same US State as my account or it being from the US is enough?

Also, do I put the Proxy in the Ethernet or Airport section?

A lot of proxies won't work as they're just for web stuff and not a full connection, and the availability of proxies online comes and goes, you'll just need to keep trying some.

Idunno' how sharing on OSX works, so try both.

As Rydian says you probably want a real proxy (better yet a VPN)- proxy detection is easy enough and if you found it with a simple search not to mention many will not support the full selection of ports protocols (try going to a secure site- many proxies will block it).

If you have any friends in a supported country (or can convince someone to allow it) then you can VPN into their systems should you so desire, http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/teamviewer_portable is my chosen brutally simple program for it all. If you want high end VPN then we can sort that later.
