So, Im gonna start by saying I made a boo boo. I have been trying to do a 1.2 on my zephyr since yesterday, and had no luck getting it to boot into xell. Using Ace v3 chip. After much reading and realizing that the zephyr is basically a giant pain in the butt, I was about to give up on it. Went back to retail to make sure it worked, and then instead of using falcon.ecc as the instructions said, I, like a genius, decided to throw the xenon.ecc at it this time to see if there was any difference. It loaded the ecc in jrunner with no issues, and then when i tried to turn the console on there was absolutely nothing. No light or beep. I still had a red light on the glitch chip. Now jrunner will not find the console with power plugged in to read/write anything. So, my question is, Has anyone heard of someone else trying this and having the same problem? Wondering if its just permenantly bricked, or maybe it blew something on the board out. I removed the chip and all wires and double checked my connections for my jrprogrammer and everything there was good. Tried many searches about loading the wrong ecc and nothing really came up. On a side note, this was my first and last zephyr. I have rgh'd many trinity and corona systems with no problems, but this one kicked my butt. Worst case, its spare parts if I ever get a jasper later on. Thank you for any info you guys can give.

I don't think it's bricked, as long as you have a good nand dump prior, and didn't wreck (loosely used term) any components on the board. You should be able to revert back to retail, and start all over. Did you have any bad blocks in the first 50 of your nand dump?

I do have a good nand dump, and there were no bad blocks.

Well, that was the problem. I had already removed the chip and wiring, and the jrprogrammer still kept telling me there was no console. I have fixed the issue today by some dumb luck by half following directions on old forums with non existent links. I did a lot of research today, and finally found another person with my identical issue. Im not the only moron who did this. Their fix was sketchy. It involves shorting out the nand to put it into a sort of recovery mode. I tried this, it did not work. Another post there had mentioned using a program called nandpro that is probably outdated, selecting erase nand, and pressing enter and plugging the console in immediately. I attempted this method with jrunner and it took a few tries, but worked. I selected the falcon.ecc as my source, and my nand backup 2 as extra. Selected rgh2 and smc+. I put the power cord barely inside the port and clicked write xell and plugged the power cable in before it could give me the no console message. It immediately started writing. It finished successfully, and then i selected my source and extra as my nand backups, set it to retail, and clicked write nand. This worked. I was able to press power and the console booted right up. A big shout out to BHetrick's post from 2010. Even though it was on old software, the somewhat same method works in jrunner. Thankfully I didnt have to erase the nand as it was suggested and simply replacing the xenon.ecc with the recommended falcon.ecc allowed everything to work out.

It would be great if this info was stickied, as this took awhile to research and come up with something. Going from a completely unresponsive console which seemed hard bricked and would not allow the nand to read or write back to retail might save some consoles from being prematurely trashed. Its crazy that it took a 14 year old post to figure this out.

Way to go, my guy 🤙🏽 you should link the nandpro application to when this gets a sticky! Make a tutorial.
