Hacking Carrying over gateway saves from old3ds to new3ds

I am trying to upgrade to a new3ds.
I heard you cant transfer emunand to another system.. such a shame.

And I might have issues with the savegames if I just copy them over..?
Surely there must be a way to get them working?

I intend to give my old3ds to my nephew, and use new3ds myself.
And I have savegames with a lot of time spend in them..

I asked someone on gbatemp chat, and he said he didn't want to explain because it's a long process..

Gateway saves will continue working just fine.
CIA saves have to be exported with SaveDataFiler, or transferred with a system transfer.

Copy from old SD and paste to new microSD. Easy as that
