Hello.

I want to get a flashcard for my 3DS. Just want an opinion of what you guys would suit me best.

-Don't want to play 3DS roms just yet obviously
-Want to be able to play DS/DSi roms.
-Suitable for homebrew stuff
-Watch movies/look at pictures etc.

these are things which would also be great to have - but are optional

-GB/GBC roms?
-Flipnote studio (as the 3DS version hasnt been released.. Ergh)
-internet browsing? I heard that's possible but I have no idea.

Thanks guys!!

Do you want to update your system? If not, the cyclods ievolution would be the best for you but everyone says that it's crap... It's the only flashcart that supports DSi enhanced features but first you should read that: http://gbatemp.net/t...olution-review/.
Every flashcard can emulate GB/GBC, can play GB/GBC roms and can play movies but only *.dgp video files. The DSTWO has a CPU and can emulate SNES, GBA and can play *.avi files etc. You can read http://gbatemp.net/t...d-dstwo-review/ for more information. If you have no problems with converting your videos and if you wouldn't spend much money, the acecard 2.i (http://gbatemp.net/t...kard-2i-review/) would be the best choice for you.

Please don't make a new toppic for every question and use the search function! If you don't find something with google (read at least the first two pages) and the gbatemp search function, you can make a new toppic.

The only cart that plays DSi-only games is the iEvo, but it's not recommended due to the lack of support and lots of bugs.

There's no other way to pirate DSiware or play it with flash carts.
fixed
Erm.. the iEvo can't play DSiware. The Sudokuhaxx and the likes can't either. There is no way to play DSiware in any way. If you want to use DSi features (in some way), the iEvo is the only choice, but wouldn't recommend it since the DS-mode has been blocked a long time ago and the DSi-mode has been blocked with DSi FW 1.4.4 and thus will probably be blocked in the future 3DS firmwares. Go for the AK2i or SCDSTwo.

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

    the player dies?

Squeeze your cheeks twice to answer calls!
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
