This has been discussed before elsewhere on the forums.
Do NOT use the gui.
The gui has not been updated.
Please use the command line version of NusGrabber only.

check yourself (and after learning it, you won't need to ask it every time for every games)

1. http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Title_database
2. search your game (CTRL+F) and be sure it's the correct region. (F3 to search next one)
3. copy the TitleID (00050000-10176A00)
4. replace "0-" with "E" (0005000E10176A00) to get the update ID.

0005000010176A00 full game
0005000E10176A00 update
0005000C10176A00 dlc

run this:
nusgrabber.exe 0005000E10176A00
It will download latest update version.

Then, if you want to install on the console :
rename "0005000E10176A00" folder to "install".
Copy the "install" folder to your SD card. (if you already have it, delete the folder completely first, do not mix updates, it can only install one at a time)

then on wiiU browser go to http://wupinstaller.com/wi
if it works, run it again
then, exit to mii plaza (where you see the mii walking) and wait (15-20mins) it will install the update.
Wait around 1H for the Smash Bros WiiU 2GB update.

If you want to use the update with loadiine
extract Cdecrypt and copy the wiiu common key inside the "0005000E10176A00" folder
run this:
CDecrypt.exe title.tmd title.tik wiiucommonkey.bin
copy the code, content and meta folders into your game's folder on SD card/wiiu/games/game name/. overwrite and replace files to apply the update.

run this:
nusgrabber.exe 0005000E10176A00
It will download latest update version.

I know a few people have been having issues with installing the latest update, I also had issues until I changed a few things. Here is my process.

I used the older nusgrabber from a few months back, not the one updated in december.
As previously stated don't use the GUI as it won't download the latest version.

I also found I had to specify the version otherwise it kept downloading version 128.

So when you run nusgrabber use this:

nusgrabber.exe 0005000E10176A00 144

Then follow Cyans instructions after that. I also needed to use the previous version of wupinstaller located at exploit.wiiubrew.net as the latest version was crashing for me every time.

yeah, the latest version of wupinstaller seems to freeze for everyone.
use the previous one.

the old nusgrabber works fine for me, it might depend the region you are from, your isp, etc.
it's probably not resolving the servers IP correctly if using a different dns server.
use the first version you find, if it doesn't work, try the other version.

just so you now, the title id never changes, so the first update, this update, the next update etc, will all have the same title id :)

I really don't know where my problem lies. I tried every version of nusgrabber and wupinstaller, but all are crashing the home menu after some minutes or when closing it after 15-20 minutes.

freezing in the home menu happens.
it means it's the correct version, but you have to try again.

if it freezes with "install ok" on the pad, then it's the latest version and a lot of users reported it didn't work well. (or they didn't wait long enough)
but if the miis are freezing, try again.
if they are walking, just wait long enough for the update to install. for SSBU which is 2GB I waited 1 hour to be sure and it installed fine.

But as an example, officially installing Xenoblade X update took 1H and it was a 10GB DLC!
so, 10G->1H
most games should be fine with 10-20min.

verify your install folder is on root, correctly written.
that it contains all the needed files (the title.tmd, the title.tik, title.cert, all the app and h3)

Maybe you are missing some files, if nusgrabber didn't find all files on the server.

I think I sent you this in a message but I will write out exactly what I did and you can see if it varies to yours.

I used the version of nusgrabber from 17th September.

Specified the version number while running it:

nusgrabber.exe 0005000E10176A00 144

Renamed the folder to install and copied that to my SD card.

Run the kernel exploit then hit the home button and exited to the Wii U Menu (this was VERY important for me to get it to work)

Loaded up exploit.wiiubrew.net in the browser and loaded wupinstaller from there. It then brought up the dialog like when you hit the home button, I then hit the Wii U menu button and let it run for 35 minutes.

After the 35 minutes I held down the power on the gamepad and the console turned off. I then booted it back up and it was installed.

I had to check the data management to make sure the data wasn't corrupted beforehand on every attempt.
