Hardware Anybody ever heard of N-Cards?

For sure will do, hopefully by the end of the coming weeks. Also I think I figured out how the corrupt byte in my N-Card affects functionality: card fails to open on my pc when using Up+A+B+L+R with an I/O device error. DS screen shows USB SAFE MODE D14.
Any ideas to solve this?

Edit: I suppose I should be able to fix it by flashing a dump of your cart using nrioTool

The IO device error is normal. The card doesn't use normal IO commands when in safe mode and won't mount as a proper drive on PC. You use N-Card's software to update uDisk section when in that mode. That's primarily what the safe mode option does. it doesn't support doing anything other then that while in that mode.

Only uDisk supports mounting the card in proper flash drive mode.

Oh I see, then I'm not sure what the corrupt byte may be doing. Hopefully nothing and the cards is alright!

Edit: I've located an 8G Fire Card, no connector, and two DS Linkers, 8G and 16G respectively, with the connector.

Where are you finding all these N-Cards?

Are you somewhere in Europe/UK by chance? I noticed they seem more plentiful there. They are super rare here in the USA. That eBay seller who used to have a stock of 20 ExpressCards was a unicorn. Doubt we'll ever see listing like that one again.

I might have to buy one off you eventually. Maybe one of the DS Linkers (maybe the 8g one if you aren't willing to part with the 16g one and since I already have a slot2 device for it I would only need the card). I had one but it's bricked currently.

(That card has a nice looking banner too)

There are some on AliExpress as of lately, perhaps somebody could test one out. Haven't tried it yet, but it "might" work.

Oh neat that should work. If the shell is too far gone I can always put the PCB in the shell for my bricked ExpressCard. That one I pulled apart rather cleanly so it would really only need a new label. I know an etsy seller who might be able to make new label for it if the label is too far gone.

As for the G6 dongle there's a chance if the G6 dongle works with N-Cards then the SMS/SM4 which advertises R6/MK6 compatibility might work too. So can't wait to see your test results with that.

All the cards are ready to be picked up, I'll probably go get them tomorrow in the morning. Looking forward to testing them, dumping is going to be interesting, hopefully your tool works out of the box. Also looking forward to tinkering with the DS lite too. Funny that it was one of the only G6 postings.

I ended up grabbing the EDGE card too cause it looks way too cool, it is still pending shipping, and I'll keep an eye on the DS Linker posting, though I don't expect anyone to get it.

Something about the EDGE card is that its a clone of the CycloDS. Same hardware and menus.

I have a formatted dslinker 1GB but with no files inside.
Slot2 usb conector is not very good to copy files from pc.

I hope someday godmodei can copy firmware files there. Because I only now have a dsi.
There are a lot of ds homebrew stuff that still doesn't run with twilight.

Picked then all up, this is now the full collection!!

It's mostly good news, couple of problems but they seem fixable with a reformat. Only bad news is the G6 adapter, having some trouble getting that one to work. DS lite turns on, which is better than nothing lol

I think i'll have some time to try things all day tomorrow.

I'm not familiar with the G6...sounds like it's not a clone of N-Card then because it looks like the DLDI driver for NRIO doesn't work with it. You can however try using G6's DLDI driver. Use something like dlditool to dldipatch GodMode9Nrio with the G6 DS Real DLDI driver. I assume it's the G6 DS Real you speak of? Because there's another G6 but that one is a slot2 card I think judging on the DLDI driver code I found for that one.
