Hacking Acekard 2i 1.4 DSi Fix

On a AceKard 2i can it read all the .NDS files if i have them all in one .rar file? or do i have to make each individual .rar? I selected all of them and made into a .rar because they were originally .nds

NO. because the firmware has no support for RARs and probably wouldn't be able to read files inside it, never mind run files from it.

Jesus, this is how it's done for the DSi:
Get the correct DSi file from inside the RAR file and put it on the root of the SD card. Google it if you don't know what the root is.
Now, turn on your DSi that's on 1.3x and go to the acekard 2i and select the DS Program File. Then it will update.

Don't put any RAR's of any sort on the acekard because nothing can open them...Honestly.

After updating you'll get a Danny Phantom icon on your DSi only (well, for me it is anyway) from THQ. That's your acekard and it's worked, so now you can update.

Take up the room. You have to.
The only time you will ever want to put .zip files into your card at all is if you happen to be running a MAME.

If you know not what a MAME is, Google's your friend.

It's not like 4GB SD cards are so expensive now that space is such an issue as it was before. You can trim ROMS if space is such a big concern which will buy you pretty much the exact same space savings.

oh and one more question ! if i use AKAIO, i just need to have whatever i downloaded (in the AKAIO folder ) and drag it into my SD card, and make a GAMES folder correct? nothing else? (besides the games, and the 1.4x fix) and itll work? i ordered my acekard and itll come tommorrow I think and i want to have it set up so i can just put my sd card in and enjoy it after i update it

Pretty much, yeah.
You might want to visit Acekard's page, and pick up a few cool skins for your card, though. Those you will download into the "aio" folder.

If you have a non acatel chipset acekard2i it cant be updated.

tried and tested, got ripped of a while back from a seller who through in 8 of these with an order.

tested all 8 , no go

the wierd thing is though, AKAIO works on these 8 cards, i thought it wasnt meant to work in clones and copies??

im presuming the major dif with the clones is theres no RX to the flash

P.S. never mind the fact that there are those of us...few, but some...who really do use them only for homebrew and "oughta be totally legal" backup ROM's of games we already own. Why shouldn't we have the right to protect our investment by backing up, for our own use?

It seems like only the criminals and the corporations have any rights any more. Screw the common man.

Hell, let's face it, most of us who do ROMs...legal or illegal...are doing it

1 - mostly on older stuff that is no longer being sold anywhere on the market, and the corporations that hold copyrights on them should be forced to abandon them (Google "abandonware" sometime)

2 - Generally as backup of stuff we already bought and own...or owned once, and wish we could buy or have again...nostalgia

3 - usually just for our own purposes, and no commercial gain to be had from it.

Very few of us are legitimate PIRATES who are out there making thousands of copies of the hottest, latest games out there on the market right now, and then selling them.

This is why, thankfully, for the most part...ROM's, though frowned on, are not generally prosecuted very hard...mostly, one might end up getting a C&D letter, and that's about as far as it will go.

All the same, it still makes for the whole thing to be a pain in the butt...they really should be forced into abandoning their copyright...and their rights, on such material...if they do not intend to sell it on the open market.

We should have a right to preserve the classics.

I updated the ak2i with a DSi 1.3e. The update worked flawlessly.

I then updated the DSi to 1.4. Since then, the card works only part of the time (1 out of 10 reboots)! When it works, i get the icon with Danny Phantom. When it does not work, I get a black screen and I need to reboot.

I reinstalled the firmware a second time, formatted the sd-card, reinstalled everything but it still does not work correctly.


What can I do?

I would appreciate any help I did the firmware update on the acekard card the danny phantom icon is present games worked. Then i udated the dsi to 1.4 and now the games wont load. any suggestions? thanks so much

Ok so if I already updated to 1.4 I have to wait for a new udate or find someone with a dsi at 1.3. Otherwise I am currently out of luck right?

Yes, you need a pre 1.4 DSi or any DSL/DS Phat to run the update.
