@Quantumcat misunderstanding level expert. ;D

The PIN for the download game which you can find generally in the bundle packages.
Again: pkmn moon was preinstalled and not connected to an nnid! 2ds was never logged in eshop

I'm going to try that app people is using lately to rollback to 11.3
Thank you!
Be careful about backing up all the things you might lose. I'm not sure what they would be. Like save games, your friend code, things like that. Have a look at the thread and also look at the warnings and preliminaries in the guide pages about CTR transfers to check! (Or, just make a NAND backup before doing it - that should bring back everything when restored)

Sorry, smartphone lag, pls delete
Do you mean download code? Pre-installed games do not have download codes, they're tied to your device ID. So even when you format your console, as long as you never attach an NNID (in which case the game gets tied to that instead of the device) you can still redownload the game.

So, I'm in 11.3 and have ctr-httpwn to access online services. Everything was working perfectly until today when I was trying to access pokebank but can't. After running ctr-httpwn and returning to the home menu I tried to access Poke bank and eshop but I get an error that I can't access not the usual you have to update. Anyone?

What a shame, I should read more precisely.. :(
Sorry for my stupidness: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/542/~/pre-installed-software-is-missing-or-deleted-(nintendo-3ds)

I've read somewhere that redownloading without that PIN code, which is on a little red note (packed with the bundle), is not possible. Cannot find the post again. FAIL!

Thank you so much for clarifying

Hi,

Thanks for all the help you've me to get going. Another question about freeshop;

I downloaded DLC for fire emblem: awakening, but upon trying to use play the dlc (at the relevant point in game, when the outrealm gate opens up), I get an error saying, "Could not detect an SD card", and to download the maps again.

I'm thinking it might be due to not placing the files in the correct directory on the SD card

You can use TikShop to install the tickets again. This will only get back tickets available in the titlekeys database (anything you installed from CIAngel or freeShop is there)
Thanx. That brought back at least many of my installs. Never heard of it before.

Next time, do some research on your problem before guessing at a solution. If you can't find any info, then ask in the noob paradise thread. Doing random things will often cause issues that could have been avoided.
Actually I didn't came up with it myself. I did some research and found this solution, but no warning what might happen with installs not present in the restored sysNAND.

Not sure where you were reading that told you to use SoundHax on a CFW system (especially since the guide actually tells you to install the homebrew launcher cia) but I'd sugginst not using it any more :-p

Yeah you got mixed up between consoles bundled with a download code (eg the Link Between Worlds console) and pre-installed games (like all Pokémon special edition systems) :-)

If you're on an old 3DS there's no reason not to update. If you're on a new 3DS the only thing that doesn't work is NTR streaming. Why not update? I don't think updating Luma will stop the nag but I'm not certain.

Luma does not remove the update nag. I think Corbenik has a patch for that.... (I was on latest Luma before deciding to update, still got update nag).

Tell us the error code or do a search for the error code yourself

Sorry the error code is 022-2634

googled it but no luck.

I did make a emunand before but i deleted it so I'm only stuck with sys nand.

Edit: I have a nand back up before I did the emunand thing. Restoring it solves the problem? and am I going to lose my saves?

Edit 2: found the answer on the Nintendo Homebrew Discord after asking there and it was to unlink NNID following these steps https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting#rm_nnid
Wanted to say that incase someone has the same issue in the future

So if i want to stay on 11.3, i have to live with that ? Or can i block this message with any kind of homebrew ?
Why stay on 11.3?

If you really want to stay there, you can delete the update nag by booting into recovery mode then exiting. You can prevent any more updates being downloaded by putting in TubeHax DNS into your connection settings. However, you won't be able to access eShop. You'll have to turn off the DNS when you want to access eShop then remember to put it back afterward.

Plus you'll need ctr-httpwn to access the eShop on a firmware other than the latest.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
