Hello everyone.
I applied the al9hack on my 3ds. now it runs with FW 11.
If i got it right i am able to:
1. Play games online
2. Update my firmware
3. Update my games (installed per cia) if they ask me to

Pokemon X has a updated available and i would need it to (hopefully) be able to use GTS ingame...
So am i right?

Thanks!

PS: Is it normal that i am not able to login the "friends" menu...
My time/date is still wrong... is this the problem or is it normal that i cant add friends, etc

i got up to part 3. number 25, I dont see emu in front of the version number my firmware is 9.2.0-20e. is it ok to update?
No. Go back and figure out what you did wrong. Check to make sure all the files are there, press Select while trying to boot into EmuNAND//RedNAND and make sure you have the right options selected.

Did you activate the 'version string' option in the config menu?

It could be that you have an outdatet version of Luma3DS, the friends module was broken in a previous version.

Without exaggerating I must've tried at least more than 20 times with the hax, and it just refuses to downgrade. Still stuck on HAX INIT

I want to do a factory reset but am weary about losing any save data, as this is a family member's 3DS. I have all of the SD card's contents backed up on the desktop, but is that enough? I feel like there should be more to it...

It took me twice to use DungeonHax to downgrade so quite lucky.

Does anyone know how this works?

Also, for those who are stuck on HAX INIT,
Go and get the updates folder from whatever firmware you're trying to downgrade to and replace with the current one.
Even if you already have a 9.2 or 2.1 update folder in the root of your SD card, do what I said and it should work. At least it did for me.

Bortz is here with a new issue. Best answer gets mod powers for 24 hours! JK I cant offer that.

I would like some help transferring some save games, but its not as simple as it sounds. At least it isn't simple to me.
I have a few games I started on my Gateway 3DS cart. Now that I have a new console with Arm9, I would like to move them over there. I am not sure how to do this. So to illustrate.
O3DS with Gateway .3DS saves --> N3DS arm9 with CIA files. I assume the CIA files save games just like normal eshop games would. I can't get SVDT to work, it cant see the sav directory from the Gateway as far as I can tell. And the Gateway sav manager gives me the "FFFFFFFF" error. I can't even seem to get myself started. Help is appreciated, as I am 60 hours into Devil Survivor 2.

Can you get banned by Nintendo by playing online with .cias? (e.g. pokemon)
And if there's an update for the game, would I update through eshop (is this safe to do?) or would I just update through .cias?

Thanks!

The generally accepted answer is that online with .cias is safe.

You can update either way. I've done both and encountered no problems.

I had used it without issue on a 9.9 device but for some reason it just would not play nice on the 10.7 device I was trying to downgrade. Must've taken me literally 30-40 attempts with no luck. Switching to oot3dhax worked on the first try miraculously

Also, can we go into eshop (with cias installed) or would that result in a ban?

I've read quite a few threads and guides and I still don't have a solid answer, so I'll ask here.

I've been content with 9.2 rxTools for a few months now. However, with Monster Hunter Generations coming up, I'm assuming I can't play online at this current firmware right?

What is the path of least resistance that lets me keep all my stuff (installed cias, saves, etc) including CFW and lets me play online?

NOTE: I am extremely new to 3DS CFW.

I use BrowserHax's QR Code to boot into ReiNand, and have been for a while. If the BrowserHax page goes down, is there another simple method I can use to boot into it?
