Hacking 2x speed burns kills Wiis -My Brawl story-

I have a bunch of games burned at 2x, and yesterday discover that my Wii can't run Brawl.

The title is original and new

I wonder if the lector is getting problems because the backups I've played, even worse many of them were burned at 2x.

I wanted play Brawl so bad

Some early wiis like mine were fine for dvd5 but refused to load ANY dvd9 original or back up so i bought a new lens got in put in and now im good to go only other way is to send it off to nin for repair..........

My Brawl is original, I just want point the use of backups like a possible responsible of this problem.

It wasn't the 2x burning. Your Wii probably couldn't read Brawl from the start.

Nintendo will repair anything that can't read Brawl out of warranty. Just make sure you take any chips out - from previous reports they'll take it. If you're using a backup loader it's also a good idea to clear that out too, but it probably doesn't matter because they will repair it out of warranty anyway.

I've 50 2x burned games, used frequently, and my brawl copy (legit) still runs flawlessly.

i burned brawl dvd9 at 8x and it works fine for me, no layer break or anything, just a regular burn. It was also some no name DVD+R DL brand from circuit city

I had a similar problem with smash other original discs, such as wiifit, but when that happens I always change the position of the wii (from vertical to horizontal) and them they work perfectly. I don't know exactly why, but I suppose is easier for the wii.

Note: I bought the wii on its launch day, so... my drive is one of the oldest.

reminds me of the old psx days, i had the first edition psx and after a year i had to run it upside down for it to read games... ahh the old days

brawl is my only original game that doesnt run, (i have 5)

but i don't think the problem is the burning speed... because i burn at 4x with nero

I think is that double layer thing... did you tried cleaning the lent?

same thing happened to me yesterday, so i left my wii on for like,... idk... about 30 minutes and then i came back to try it again and it worked...i dont know whats causing the issue but i find it odd my wii had to be on for a bit before it would read brawl

I wonder if it has to do with some cIOS conflict, I send my Wii to repair, got my lens clean but Original Brawl refuse to boot-up

My wii 3.2 chipped with wiikey original has never played original brawl disc.....so i changed lens and all my 100 backup games play fine but the original smash will still not play....but the burned copy of brawl plays fine

for back ups i have waninkoko's cios36 rev7
but i could boot my retail brawl before and after i installed cios.
i'm getting mod chip soon for gc backups(should be here tomorrow hopefully!) and i'm gonna try to get some dvd-r dl and make a copy of my brawl to see if i can boot it as i am interested to see how my wii handles dual layer backups.
