Hi wondering if anyone can help. Back in the day I was completely up to date with all the custom drive firmwares and I burned tons of games. I recently found a load of the old Verbatim discs so thought I’d use them up. I remembered to run whatever iso through ABGX360 - of course it didn’t work but read up on Hadzz and I think I have it working now. I wanted to try one of the FIFA 19 backups - ran through ABGX fine and it downloaded updates and found info on the game etc. - seemed to make some fixes etc but it got down to stealth right near the end and couldn’t find a verified copy from memory - but got through the rest of the checks ok. Then ran it through the old process to burn the disc and first time it got to 100%. I’ve read some info and some of the info has come back to me but I bought at the time whatever special ihas drive which didn’t need overburning or wherever it was - I just burned the game with whatever the last settings were (I think from memory I did it last 2 years ago or so and it was fine)

Before i go on - wherever discs I had from the past work fine so the drive in the 360 seems ok - some get the old unrecognised error etc but thats cause they’re old and dodgy - a load of burned iso backups work fine though fyi.

With fifa though I get an issue I’ve never had before. Usually you insert the disc and it tries to read it. I’ve tried 2 different isos now and both are the same - the drive doesn’t try and read the disc at all and just says play game. If you click, it signs me out of my profile and goes back to the main screen. If you click game info, it takes you to Internet Explorer! Nothing works.

If I put it back in the PC, it has that video come up which says it can only be played in a Xbox. If I run the dvd itself through ABGX, it comes up with all the game info, shows FIFA etc and looks ok!

Is it something when I run the iso through this new version of ABGX?

Any suggestions would be great - I don’t have many DVDs left now!!

Cheers

@Minox, Mint and many other distros that I'm aware of (except Fedora) are based on Ubuntu or Ubuntu LTS (long-term support) - the difference with LTS is that you won't get the latest of updates (unless you modify the sources.list file to include those), but enough until the end of life.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Mint is considered the de-facto standard for beginners due to its ease of use.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Mainly those who are just getting started to move away from Windows, but want to retain the same interface that they'll be getting used to.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I might consider moving over to Fedora in the future, getting quite tired of Mint; however, I still recommend it to several folks who want a far easier to use distro than any of the other options.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If you check out DistroWatch, you can search for what distro suits your needs. The search function has extra options like the base, architecture, what size the image is (i.e., you want a system that is lightweight).

Usps decide to send it to TX to IL for some reason

Here's a cheap 1tb can throw in it, I ordered a couple for X360's, but only couple left. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Spin...1c213738b6bf6551581f640b5e&xpid=6jjY_pzlCpu35
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Already have one
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Thought u said it was only a 250gb, that's like only 7-8 games
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Nah that's if I wanted a cheapo ssd in it
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Honestly I'd recommend something like this just $15 more than a mechanical drive https://a.co/d/dOT73f5
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Is it the super slim, original slim, or phat?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
No real advantage of using ssd in PS3/X360, they use old Sata1/2 interface. Maybe get little read speed dif but hardly noticeable.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Slim
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
No moving parts the better with hardware ssd has longer chance of life
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
With a much bigger price tag
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    $15 isn't a huge price difference
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Yup, I was thinking of that because the super slims cannot have custom firmware installed, you can only do PS3HEN which is like a soft-mod of sorts but not permanent.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
1tb ssd is like$50 all across the board
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
shit, compare 1tb ssd to a 1tb sata hd, more than $15 dif
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Still $50 for a 1tb isn't a huge price tag difference
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Ok you do you.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BigOnYa, 1TB SSDs don't cost all that much nowadays, you should be good to go with one. Nothing too abysmal like 16TB as you're going to be using a small portion of that.
